I grew up in the bakery business, and without any hesitation, I will say that Annies Donuts are some of the best I have ever eaten. They use a recipe that came with this shop, a mix of potato flour that creates a superior donut. If your old enough and grew up in the right area of the country, they used to be sold as "Spudnuts." They were and still are, FANTASTIC!! And, the family who runs the place are FANTASTIC!! as well.

I try to stop in whenever I am in this part of town. Their raspberry fritters are the best! I can't recommend this place enough for tasty donuts. Leave the Voodoo doo doo for the tourists.

I'd probably rate Annie's higher, but their hours and availability are totally on a whimsical basis, day-by-day. They may be open, they may have donuts, or, they may not. When they do have donuts, they're pretty good. Mostly traditional, with a few of their own twists on donut ideas thrown in. Overall, if they happen to be there, check them out.

These are delicious, fresh donuts and very inexpensive. Buttermilk Bars, French Cruellers and all Fritters are sublime.

Best donut shop in the Portland area. We live in Troutdale, and drive by about five donut shops to get to Annie's. The donuts are slightly crispy on the outside, and soft and light on the inside. The icings and glazes are not too sweet, and the fritters are the best I've ever had. Just don't go too late in the day, the selection is much better early in the morning.

We have Voodoo for the tourists... to keep them away from the better, less expensive, and fresher doughnuts found here!

The atmosphere and staff are very nice. The donuts are wonderful. I will echo similar reviews that recommend the buttermilk bar, hands down the best in portland. Every donut I've tried here has been great. The prices are incredible for the product. I dont think you could ask for better in a donut shop. I've been a regular of Voodoo and Sesame Donuts for years; I prefer Annie's.
