Google introduces Google Inbox. Sounds genuinely interesting and useful. Anybody with an invite? ;)

I see people sharing their projects. Yesterday I released a simple library for controlling WiFi LED bulbs I bought recently.

Another feature that is gone is playback for mp3 attachments. I get my voicemail automatically sent to me as mp3 files. Until the most recent change I used to be able to just click "play" in gmail and listen to them without having to download them to the hard drive. Quite annoying.

I hope they will succeed. Recent events made me uncomfortable using Gmail, but I don't know anything out there that is as good that I could install locally.

If they also succeed in popularizing e-mail encryption that would be an extraordinary achievement.

If you want you can support the project by giving money or contributing code.

This is my favourite film ever. A documentary about Daniel Ellsberg and "The Pentagon Papers" (the secret rapport about the Vietnam War, leaked by Ellsberg) . I think it's really worth watching, especially now, in the context of the most recent leaks in the US. I highly recommend the movie.

You forgot about CommaFeed (www.commafeed.com), which in my opinion is the best (and most google reader like) choice.

"even if you're not doing anything wrong, you're being watched and recorded. And the storage capability of these systems increases every year consistently by orders of magnitude to where it's getting to the point where you don't have to have done anything wrong, you simply have to eventually fall under suspicion from somebody, even by a wrong call. And then they can use the system to go back in time and scrutinize every decision you've ever made. Every friend you've ever discussed something with. And attack you on that basis, to derive suspicion from an innocent life, and paint anyone in the context of a wrongdoer."

This is absolutely AMAZING. Without any exaggeration. And it really works - I tried it on my photos. "Dog" returns list of posts of my dog, "cat" lists photos of my cat and other cats I photographed. I also tested "tree", "building", "pet" and they all worked. It's incredible that there is a computer system that can pull this of - and at this scale!

Maybe somebody will find this interesting. This is the first Google Reader alternative that satisfies my needs and suits my habits.
