I grew up in California. I live for quality Mexican good. Oscar's Mexican Seafood knocks it out of the park. The "surf and turf" taco his filled with fish, shrimp and carne asada, topped off with heaping portions of avocado. The restaurant (really more of a take-out place) isn't much to look at, so I recommend taking your delicious tacos down to PB or Bird Rock. Just watch out for the seagulls!

Wowza! Oscar's is great! My friends have been telling me I need to go for quite some time, so I finally did and man have I been missing out! I got a surf n turf taco and a shrimp taco--both were incredible, but I think I enjoyed the shrimp more. The amount of cheese, pico, and seafood were perfect and I felt like I got a lot for my money. The tacos were $4.25 and 4.50 each--more than reasonable for 2 large portions. I highly recommend you go, now!

Hands down, the best fish taco I've tried in San Diego. Whether you keep it classic with a battered fish or go deluxe with the surf and turf (switch the shrimp to spicy) or taco especial, you will not be disappointed. What sets Oscar's apart? It's the melted cheese in the bottom of the tortilla, the fresh fish, the incredible creamy sauces, and the delicious selection of aguas frescas. If you're feeling adventurous, and it's on the specials board, don't miss the unique and delectable octopus taco. And if you're extra hungry, upgrade any taco to a "burrito" (a bigger taco in a flour tortilla, really) for just a buck! If this is your first visit, this location is the original, and I recommend this one over the others for the true Oscar's experience, despite the line and lack of seating (the wait will be well worth it). If you've been before, head on over to Emerald street for more seating and easier ordering with a different vibe.

Really enjoyed the ceviche! For the best taco, Get the fried fish on flour tortilla with added avocado. Will add a couple dollars, but will be so worth it!! Surf & Turf is also AMAZING! Give about 20 minutes from the time you order to receive your food. Can be very crowded. Can tell the food is authentic and that they really know how to cook their fish/meat.

It is the best of the best. You must come to this location..TRUST ME. it makes a difference. From their sauce to their service, even to the ambiance. To get the full experience of Oscars you must come here even if you have to stand outside. I was once the duchess and came here at least every week for my order of 2 surf and turf tacos and shrimp ceviche. I can't even explain how amazing this place is but what I must tell you is that you must use at least 8 lime slices and all three sauces. My favorite is the white sauce and I definitely take the entire bottle with me to the table when I sit down. They are not stingy on the avocado as well and you are guaranteed to get a nice fat slice on top of whatever taco you order. The steak and shrimp in the surf and turf are so complementary and the cheese on the bottom of the tortilla MELTED YUMMY GOODNESS. MMMM mouth watering just typing about it and I can't even start about the shrimp ceviche. Lemon lime deliciousness, it has to be my favorite of all time. You must stop here whenever you're in SD and only at this location ( just look for the smoke shop, the store has a blue exterior and no big sign) The other locations don't match up sadly so come here and you won't be disappointed. Happy Eating, Savoring, and Enjoying

Arrived our first night in San Diego and wanted to get something to eat, were recommended Oscar's by our host and oh my goodness this place is amazing!!! If you want fish tacos don't go anywhere else, it blew all expectations out of the water! The smoked fish taco is incredible. We're only here for 3 days and will definitely be going again...

Definitely a solid fish taco, no doubt. The batter fish taco lacked sauce, the especial was a little too fishy, but the spicy shrimp was the best out of all of them. It wasnt the best fish taco ive ever had but it was solid.

Oscar's has some of the best Mexican food in town. I like that it is all very fresh and not the greasy, heavy kind of mexican food that is typical at a lot of other mexican joints. The fact that there is always a line and place is always busy is a sign of the quality. Their ceviche is my favorite.
