A buddy of mine started hacking away at a hunk of wood and i offered to polish it up for him. He was appreciative of the results.

Xpirement compleated. Results are similar to Mr. Kelleys comment. Steel cools quicker.

I like this community a lot exept for one detail.
Y'all want that guy to die a lot. Don't do that.
Why in the world would you want to punish a gravedigger like that?
Then have that guys DNA all over the ecosystem due to decomposition?
It would be a lot better to wish him to suffer the same fate as paper dresses

I was looking at a burning piece that a friend had gotten a few years ago and noticed that the burned lines were awfully light. commenting on it, knowing some other work that this particular artist had burned, my buddy said that the lines were good when he got it, but they seemed to fade over time.
looking at some other older (2 years +)burns that I had done I noticed that the wood had darkened with age. I contributed that to my friends  burning seeming to lighten.
Has anyone else noticed this?
