Good but but not great. For the price and what you get it is amazing. I have not be more full in a long time than my visit here. But in the end it was a little disappointing on the spices. Just not as full of flavor as I wanted. All I could really taste was the cheese and chicken the beans fell a little flat.

Freebirds is a worthy burrito alternative to the well-known Chipotle, but not a suitable replacement in my opinion. I love the decor! I love the friendliness of the staff! I love the wrap options! I love how they take their time to craft your burrito (except when I'm in a hurry)! However, I still prefer the taste of Chipotle's burritos. If you are a few miles away from the closest Chipotle and value the overall dining experience, I recommend giving Freebirds a try! TIP: Stick to the pork or steak.

Quantity over quality at this place! I had been wanting to try this place out for a while. This is another generic contender in the Subway of the over-sized burrito market which includes national competitors Qdoba and Chipotle. While Qdoba and Chipotle are similar in terms of food and business model, Freebirds has more of a casual, laid back, hipster vibe. The positive point I have about Freebirds is that they offer way more selection and four different sizes of burritos from large to loaf-sized. However, everything else is just plain bad. The tortillas are small, and much look suspiciously similar to the store-bought rough-and-tough kind. The meat looked good, but my choice of meat - the dark chicken - tasted a lot like unseasoned chicken thighs. The rice was starchy and mushy. The entire thing was bland, despite the feeding trough of foodstuffs I put in there. I used the recommended unwind-the-foil-as-you-eat method, and that was pretty much mandatory because the smaller tortillas they use do not close up, so you depend on the tin foil to hold it together. The final nail in the coffin for me was that they charge for sour cream, and it isn't a small fee. Sour cream costs 89 taxable cents at Freebirds. Head on over to your local H-E-B and buy two cups of sour cream for 89 untaxable cents and you can dip your entire burrito in it and still have some left over. Sour cream is a cheap commodity. If I would have known about the expensive upcharge I would have never spent my dime here in the first place! It is way more expensive than the competition and lacks the flavor of the typical nationwide offerings. In the end, I counted my losses and threw half of it out because the bland flavor and especially the texture of the rice was making me feel nauseous.

I am ALL about this kind of burrito place. Yes, this and Chipotle. Fresh ingredients, exactly what you want, great guacamole...how do I qualify this versus the almost equally delish chain competitor? Easy, Freebirds has got different flavored types of tortillas as an option. Done and done. The winner, by a flatbread, is Freebirds! Doesn't hurt that it's local as well. I could deal without the 'look how weird, hippy, and Austin we are' vibe that has frankly gotten pretty overplayed as of late.

You like burritos? Well, you haven't had one if you haven't been to Freebirds. The lunch hour here can get a little out of hand, but it is worth the wait. It is close by my work, which is great and I can stop by when I am starving. You will need to loosen the belt to finish one of the burritos from Freebirds and I am not kidding. The staff is great and I have not had any issues at this location

I ordered burritos online for my boyfriend to pick up on his way home from work so that all he'd have to do was pick it up and pay. I selected for the order to specifically be ready at 6:20, got a confirmation e-mail that the order had been processed and when he got there a few minutes AFTER 6:20, they hadn't even started preparing our order. The site even explains that preparation only takes 15 minutes. I was expecting them to take a couple dollars off of the total or throw in drinks for free - SOMETHING to compensate for their poor customer satisfaction, but nope. He didn't even get an apology! What's the point in ordering online if you still have to stand in the line and wait for your order? All I can say is that the quality of the food better be better than the customer service.
