We're looking for a WEB-DEVELOPER
, FULL-TIME, RUGBY, UK
Be responsible for team management; server and github administration and ensuring code integrity in an initiative to develop a web-platform that facilitates collective action to address the global issues of our time (see www.humanityonline.org
). Your role will be to support and guide a growing team of web-developers (currently six) who are working remotely and part-time.
Maintain a secure server environment
Support in delegating and overseeing team tasks
Ensure all code is tested and documented according to best practice methods
Ensure that different parts of the project are delivered on time
Report directly to the Project Manager and Director of Operations.
Familiar with DB Administration, Github, PHP, MySQL, JQuery, CSS
Strong team working experience
Ability to work towards deadlines and according to specifications
You’ll be working as part of a small team from the SIBE Directors’ home-office, based in Rugby (cheap rent in Rugby, and apparently in the top ten locations to live in the UK!).
This is an opportunity for someone with relevant expertise and experience, who is looking for a dramatic change in working environment and objectives - and who can afford to make that choice. Or, someone with relevant expertise and is looking to start their career at an organisation that will be really making a difference.
You’ll be joining the project in its early stages and will have a real impact in realizing Humanity Online’s first prototype, with a great chance of staying as a key funded member of the team as the organisation blossoms in the future. We are in the chicken and egg situation where we can’t get proper investment without first showing the web platform and so we need your skills to complete the prototype and get some serious funding. So for a time being you would have to work for free.
