"A calm and modest life brings more happiness than the pursuit of success combined with constant restlessness." - Albert Einstein, 1922, Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.

This theory was written down by Einstein for a bellboy on a piece of hotel stationary at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo in 1922. Einstein was there on a lecture tour and had just heard about his Nobel Prize win. Not having any change to tip the bellboy, he wrote down some words of wisdom, prefacing that the piece of writing could be worth more than a tip one day. Indeed, the payday has reportedly come to the nephew of the bellboy who ended up with the note. He also wrote another short note on a second sheet, saying “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

Most people treating psychosis are afraid to approach the unconscious in a person experiencing psychotic symptoms. We initially work on stabilizing the psychosis in terms of the active positive symptoms with the least amount of medication. Once that is established, we work to trace the origin of these positive symptoms (i.e. hallucinations, delusions, intrusive thoughts) and help the client identify their own unconscious conflicts contributing to the development of the psychosis. Learn more about our treatment methods for this and other mental illnesses on our website: http://bit.ly/2nRDaf9

How to have a meaningful holiday and get out of the vicious cycle of #stress and #debt. The holidays may be an especially triggering time for those of us prone to this type of spending. “Spending money on others makes it easier to spend money on ourselves,” says Christie Tcharkhoutian, a marriage and family therapist, adding that splurging has also become “a socially acceptable way to cope with stress over the holidays.” But it’s a pretty lousy coping mechanism, given that, as Tcharkhoutian points out, it’s often motivated by negative feelings and leads to “stressful feelings of guilt and shame.”

Here are five ways to stay strong against stress spending...
