The Grace of Gracie

The true grace of Gracie wasn't merely her mighty leaps into the air at phantom faeries, nor her long, balletic slides at ends of hallways.
No, the grace of Gracie was simply that Gracie was.

Rick Springfield to tour with President Obama
...not really...HA!

Jon Stewart on President Obama’s SOTU bin Laden Opener: ‘Does Rick Springfield Open With ’Jesse’s Girl?!’

“You open with I killed bin Laden?! You open with that? ‘Hey everybody, how you doin’? You having a nice night? I f**king killed bin Laden! I killed him!’” What are you doing? Does Rick Springfield open with “Jesse’s Girl?” No! He opens with “I’ve Done Everything for You“ and then he transitions into ”Don’t Talk to Strangers” — slows it down a bit with “Affair of the Heart,” and then hits you with something off the new album. And then just when you think it can’t get anymore…beautiful – ”Jesse’s Girl” and the place goes f**king nuts — it goes nuts!”Watch these comments, below (around 1:30):

BEST ARGUMENT AGAINST SOPA I HAVE READ! SOPA MUST DIE! BLACKOUT
MY TAKE ON SOPA and PIPA (this is the closest to writing a book as I have ever gotten) :

As a musician piracy affects me EVERY DAY. In fact I can guarantee you, without any doubts that several people are downloading my music right now for free. My songs have been downloaded MILLIONS (not thousands) of times through piracy. Thus proving that mankind's standards for quality music has been lowered significantly over the years (ha ha) . I am far from being a Bruce Springsteen or Vic Damon. I don't have Sony backing me. Piracy directly affects whether or not I release new music, how big the productions are, pay scale for contributing musicians and etc. Piracy really does suck BUT FREEDOM OF SPEECH and the FREEDOM to disseminate information to the masses is FAR MORE IMPORTANT TO ME and the future of my children. I am not one of those types who just follows the crowd and jumps on the band wagon. I have researched SOPA in detail. I have to conclude that IT IS BAD LAW. It cannot be adjusted to be better either. SOPA as it is defiantly puts the internet and free speech as we know it in danger. This is not the way to address piracy. THIS IS NOT A PARTISAN SUBJECT either. There are plenty of lawmakers on both sides (and in the so called middle) that are pro-sopa and anti-sopa. I am a free market guy, but I am a FREEDOM of speech guy above everything, even if it hurts my bottom line. If you're still reading this then your attention span is much longer than mine (so applaud yourself) .

HOW DO I DEAL WITH PIRACY AS A CONTENT PRODUCER/ARTIST?

It's simple!!! I write, sing and produce from the heart and tell true stories about my life through music and lyric. I doubt very seriously that anyone who is pirating my music would have EVER bought it in the first place. I get letters all the time from people who say that they downloaded my music from a torrent or peer site and later decided that I am just not the kind of guy they wanted to steal from (paraphrasing that of course). Obviously my formula can't work for everyone and overall I am against piracy personally because it does in fact put people out of work and is just wrong. That's just how I roll. Not everyone is like me. But, I sure as hell don't think we need laws that restrict our most sacred freedoms over it.

The Church of Kopimism, a religion whose central tenet is the free sharing of information, has been formally recognized by the Swedish government.

Kopimists believe all information sharing is “holy” and that the value of information multiplies when it’s shared. They hold CTRL+C and CTRL+V, keyboard shortcuts for copying and pasting, to be sacred symbols of their religion.

Formal acknowledgment provides the Church of Kopimism, named for the Swedish word for “copy,” with legal protections under that country’s law and potential access to government-assisted funding.

Can a free internet be viewed as religion?
