The Globalwebindex issued a report saying that about one quarter of all Internet users in the world use Google+.
The US tech press has completely ignored this story and falsely believes the ignorant echo chamber BS because 1) journalists love Twitter and hate any social network that competes with Twitter; and 2) North America has the lowest usage in the world, according to this report.
If US tech journalists know anything it's that if US journalists don't use something then nobody does.
Here's Globalwebindex blog post on the news:
About two weeks ago, I shattered my Nexus 6P's screen. I reached out to Google to get info on the repair process, and was forwarded on to Huawei, who told me there's only one guy who handles all repair/replace cases, presumably for the 6P. I didn't hear anything back for a few days, and posted about it here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AaronGingrich/posts/ZcvCykGFe26.
I figured it's only fair I post an update with the semi-resolution. This Monday (a week after I sent my first email to Huawei with pictures and proof of purchase), the guy at Huawei responded very simply saying that they would repair or replace the phone at no charge to me, and asking when is a good time to call. I replied saying "now is fine", and received a call about 30 seconds later from a rep who took down all of my personal information (remember, I purchased the phone from Google, so Huawei didn't have any of it). He walked me through the process: I'd get a label from UPS in the next 24 hours, and once they got my phone, they'd send a new one out within a day or so. Total turnaround time, including shipping: 5-7 business days.
In short: they're repairing/replacing my phone free of charge, and even covered shipping costs, even though the blame laid 100% with me. It took me a few days to swap my sevice back to my Nexus 5 (thanks for that, AT&T), so I only just dropped the phone off a few hours ago. Hopefully in about 2 weeks from now I'll be using a fixed-up Nexus 6P again, and using this case: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01761J26I/ref=psdcmw_3081461011_t2_B016CBFBVI. Thanks for the suggestion, +Todd Simon - I ordered it yesterday.
