Kind of makes you think, no?
From The New York Times (almost verbatim) The Drone That Killed My Grandson  By Giuseppe Andino Milan, Italy — I LEARNED that my 16-year-old grandson, Luigi — a United States citizen — had been killed by an America...

Lou Dobbs jumps the shark (again). Is Lou jealous that the Lorax's orange skin looks better than Lou's orange hair?

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/fox-business-lou-dobbs-bashes-animated-movies-lorax-secret-world-arrietty-indoctrinating-children-liberal-agenda-article-1.1026738
In the Dr. Seuss book, the Lorax speaks for trees, "for the trees have no tongues." Lou Dobbs, on the other hand, most definitely has a tongue and he's not afraid to wield it against the beloved child...

This is so beautifully meta: Santorum's "Rombo" ad ends with Romney smearing himself with a Santorum-like substance.

http://www.policymic.com/articles/4266/rombo-ad-is-a-smart-way-for-rick-santorum-to-retaliate-against-mitt-romney-in-michigan
The "Rombo" ad aims to take advantage of social media to go around the money barriers in this primary race. It's strategic gold.

I support ~90% of the POTUS' policies, but this is in the 10%. Credit to Glenn Greenwald for hammering on this issue http://www.salon.com/2012/02/08/repulsive_progressive_hypocrisy/singleton/

Brilliant: "When you harvest as much content as we do, there are bound to be some fatalities," Huffington said. "That's just part of the job."

My take: to paraphrase Dr. King, the arc of the internet bends towards freedom.

Must-read Guardian piece on geopolitics of Internet censorship:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/apr/15/commotion-wireless-new-america-foundation
In the first part of a series on the struggle to control the internet, Oliver Burkeman finds out why the US is spending millions to help activists communicate

"Two Polls Show a Santorum Surge" Apparently polling really IS a dirty business...

A Pew survey also shows that Mitt Romney's efforts to court conservatives has hurt him with independent voters.

It must be depressing to be a Republican these days. I thought the Gore/Kerry era was the bottom, but clearly there are depths yet unplumbed.

The eventual GOP candidate will be an eyeless crab that feeds from hydrothermal vents.

The Obama administration last month unveiled new rules requiring insurance plans at some religious institutions to provide free contraception to their employees.

There's so little chance to resist the temptation of abortion when you use contraception. Give the Catholics credit: they've made a sport out of it.
