A photo of a classroom in an unknown school, Wood Co., West Virginia, early 20th century. Possibly the Lauckport school, Lubeck district. The photo on the right is original. The photo on the left has been cropped and color-enhanced, though I am not sure "more blue" rather than "more yellow" really enhances it all that much. I think there is more visible detail in the "blue" version, but that may also be a result of cropping it.

Congressional Cemetery, Washington, D.C., is a site most tourists won't visit. It's way off the National Mall, in S.E., and it's a little macabre, especially with all the lookalike cenotaphs of dead Congressmen. But it's worth seeing, if only to visit the graves of some famous and infamous Washingtonians.

Fishing on a seemingly unnamed lake on the Rideau canal chain of lakes. On maps, I've seen it simply referred to as the Cataraqui River, which was probably the original name of the river before it was flooded and became a lake.

World War I-era postcard, "I'm a war baby, too". What kind of dog do you think is represented here? #puppies #dogs #dogsareawesome #worldwari

I agree, I'd like to see the "Hero's Journey" (to quote Joseph Campbell) just once become "the Heroine's Journey"; or at the very least, could we have a female Sith, please? Even "Clone Wars" had one. But making movies of the Expanded Universe crap? No, no, no. I do NOT want to go to a movie for a scene in which Han Solo cooks Leia dinner.

Our cats, Sugar and Spice, playing. These two are sisters, never apart. If they are separated in the house, one of them will search for the other, crying.

From the Washington Times, January 16, 1914. The good Doctor Littlefield makes a correlation between bedbugs, civilization, and cancer, and from that infers causation. Science!

"Outbursts of Everett True", Seattle Star, January 16, 1914. Was Everett True really expressing what people were thinking, but were too polite to say, in 1914? Or was he just an asshole? I do wonder that he had any friends, or a wife for that matter.
