My fiance and I stayed one night at the Grand Hyatt on our way to Orcas Island to be married. I booked a corner suite through an AmEx travel account. My fiance was going to arrive at the hotel about two hours before I was, so I called ahead and ensured that she would be able to get into the room. I spoke to a manager, who said that she added my fiance to the reservation and gave me a confirmation number. I provided the confirmation number and the email containing the reservation, which included her name, to my fiance, and, you guessed it, when she arrived they would not let her into the room. In my phone call I specifically requested that the experience be stress-free on my fiance; I wanted her to be able to check in and relax. Instead, she found herself, almost in tears, arguing with the front desk staff. They wouldn't even look at the confirmation number. The reservation email with her name didn't sway them. Then, after jerking her around for forty-five minutes, they let her into the room. What changed their minds? We still don't know. When I arrived, the front desk staff seemed annoyed that I had a problem with their actions. I was very polite, and feel that perhaps I should have been less so. After going to my room I called hotel services and requested a second robe and some extra towels. They never arrived. If a guest is paying for a corner suite, is it too much to ask that they get extra towels upon request? My fiance discovered black hair in the shower and toenail clippings on the floor of the bathroom. Our view was primarily of a huge flat rooftop. My fiance said that she had wanted to go back to the desk and request a higher floor, but after her check in experience, she was literally afraid to do so. That's your legacy, Grand Hyatt. You made my fiance afraid to talk to your desk staff on the night before her wedding. I have never written a poor review online before, but what I wanted to be a luxurious, relaxing stay was a hassle every step of the way. The Grand Hyatt Seattle will never get my business again, and should not get yours.

I stayed here three nights while on a business trip. The central downtown location was convenient, and the room was in good shape overall, but I'm dinging them two stars because: 1) The grout in the shower had a bunch of gross black mold and 2) The bed wasn't made properly (bottom sheet wasn't pulled down enough, leaving the bottom foot of the mattress uncovered).

Great Rates, prompt check in and qucikly taken up to my suite. Experience was great! Stayed at the Grand Hyatt for a night and wanted to make the most of it. checked in at 3 and had a massage at 3:30; facilities could be nicer, but enjoyed the massage!Walking distance to local bars, clubs and restauraunts makes this an ideal location to stay. Even made it into the hot tub after hours!

I loved my recent stay here for a weekend getaway with my husband. Everyone was super nice and allowed us to check in 2 hours early. The room was clean, modern and a great size. Would highly recommend.

The service is excellent. Great view of the bay from my room. Maybe the nicest workout facility I've seen in a hotel.

Decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt hotel for the July long weekend. We were promised the Elliot Bay view and that the room would be on a sufficiently high floor (23rd or 24th). They wouldn't commit to which room I was getting and I was afraid that they would pull the switcharoo at the last minute with us getting stuck with an inferior room...We paid 250/night, and hoped to have a peace of mind. However, when we arrived at the hotel, we learnt that we got bumped down to 22nd floor. They were pretty quite about it and luckily I had spotted the error. I tried explaining to check-in deskperson that we had specifically requested a high up floor and were indeed promised 23rd or 24th floor as per our reservation. She said that she can't do anything about it. After speaking to her manager, who was also hard to convince about what the big deal was to stay in 22nd or 23rd or 24th floor, the manager said that she will give us a 30 dollar rebate. However, the way it looked to me was that these people were charging us the rate for 23rd floor when in fact we were given 22nd floor. After getting the discount, I felt some relief but when I got to the room, I noticed this horrific Roosevelt sign staring us right in our face through the window. The view of the bay was pretty blocked by other taller skyscrapers. Worse, at night time, the Roosevelt sign shone really bright red and we felt quite it was a bit disappointing. I think that if we had gotten the 24th or even 23rd floor as promised, we would be just above the sign and it would have been easier to ignore it. I would not recommend the Grand Hyatt hotel for anyone who expects to get what they were promised/what they paid for. Try for another chain!
