Wow, I suck at this.

Hello again G+! I'm back, with a new job, a new blog, and new .... well, everything else is pretty much the same. I'll try again to stay up to date and relevant!

Taking a short course this week on clinical plant pathology, field diagnosis methodology and hands on application. I didn't set out to become a pathologist, and I'm not entirely sure I want to be one... but someone has to feed the planet, right?

Haven't been on G+ for quite some time, but I am going to try to get everything updated. Maybe even start blogging again. Strange how a simple note from an old friend can open up your mind to avenues you never even considered exploring.

I have an editing question for you G+ experts out there. I want to change the order of photos in an album, but can't seem to make it work. Is there a trick to this?

Since it's a beautiful Friday, and since I'm in a nostalgic/contemplative/literary/world-traveling mood.... Jimmy Buffett "L'air de la Louisiane", Live from the Olympia in Paris, 2010.

Just thought I'd share this quote that hangs above my desk.

"You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget that errand."---- Woodrow Wilson

So, GPlus'ers, what is your opinion of professional colleagues (no matter the profession) who seem to have a personal vendetta against anyone who actually enjoys their work? Why would these people continue to be in a profession that they don't enjoy? I have already heard the "It's the economy, I have to keep this job to maintain my lifestyle, I can't do what I really want to do" argument. Honestly, I don't buy it. If you are passionate about something, you can find a way to make it work. Downsize your "needs", limit your spending, make some sacrifices. Personally, I think the problem is that people like this haven't bothered to take the time to find their joy in life. Opinions? Thoughts?
