Shooting Star over Glacier Park.
If you haven't checked out the photography on  +David Marx's page...you should.

Aurora Borealis And Shooting Star Over Glacier National Park
Montana

The green glow of the Aurora Borealis shines over the mountains of Glacier National Park, Montana.  I was lucky enough to also capture a shooting star streaking through the sky in this single 20 second exposure.

Many thanks to my good friend Noah Clayton, from +The Lens Hub, for staying out late with me last night.  If you are looking for top-quality Canon or Nikon camera rentals check out http://www.thelenshub.com

Photography Tip: To capture the Northern Lights you need lots of luck and a digital camera that can shoot clean images even at very high ISO settings.   This image was shot at the ridiculous ISO 16000. Good raw file processing skills are required when working with night images to hide the sensor noise and to draw out all the wonderful details in a clear dark sky.

There is space for one more adventurous photographer to join my Northern Lights Photography Workshop this March up in Churchill, Manitoba. We are going to Churchill because it is one of the rare places on Earth where some level of Aurora shines almost every night. More details at http://www.davidmarx.com/workshops/northern-lights-photography-workshop/

Had a great week- 3 day guided hike with 3 day rafting trip. Great way to see parts of the park that most don't have access to. Guides are extremely well organized, highly knowledgable, and very committed to their guests. The one thing that really surprised me was the quality of the food Glacier Guides provided- despite us staying in locations that had no running water, the Guides were able to provide some very delicious meals- including pesto pasta, grilled ribs, and triple chocolate brownies. I'd definitely recommend Glacier Guides to anyone heading out to Glacier National Park!

Our family took a two day raft trip with Montana Raft and our experience was five stars. The guides were excellent (Kevin and Scott). Just our family of four was on the raft so it wasn't crowded like the competition. The food was show stopping, super good, excellent selection and awesome presentation. Attitude was respectful, fun, and relaxing. This two day trip was the highlight of our month long summer vacation covering 17 states. The guides were really good at helping us pack the right gear, explaining what to expect and making this a worry free trip. While this trip is more expensive than a one day rafting trip, it is an exceptional value when compared to grand canyon river rafting trips which cost thousands more.

My family and I joined a hiking and rafting trip with glacier guides in July. We have done many guided trips worldwide over the years and this one was in our top three. The staff and guides were fantastic! When I initially called in March they answered all kinds of questions about the area and things to do (including things that had nothing to do with their company). Of course we were blown away by the beauty of Glacier, and Glacier Guides only made it better. They are friendly, safety minded and fun people who love the outdoors and genuinely care about you and the experience you're having. I will be back!!
