The quintessential NY experience. The chaos, the crazy mobs, the sea of clothes and the endless floors of shopping. There are pretty great sales available, if you have the patience to look. Never tried "Door-busters" or Black Friday but I wouldn't bother lol Things to know- - They will price match Macys(dot) com pricing. I've done it. - The Christmas floor is pretty awesome - check it out. - Their "Special Sales" are not worth it, just go on a regular day and use your discount, same thing.

I went inside on my lunch break to pick up a quick concealer for my face. I approached the clinique counter and the woman that helped me was probably th e most sarcastic employee i have ever met. She could not make it any more obvious that she received commission off of my sale and almost hawked me to buy more things. from pulling off signage to telling me if i purchase it online" i dont need to know the name of the shade bc i will have it when i buy it " dark skin female with very puffy hair .. you my friend, are the reason i will not return..

If the management at Macy's actually reads these reviews and want to know why sales are going down, here's a good reason: I made a simple call today to find out if Macy's Herald Square carries a particular item. I first spoke to an operator and before getting the chance to tell her what item I was looking for, she transferred me to the 'sales department'. Again, I didn't have the chance to tell them what item I was looking for - I just said, "I'm calling to see if you carry a particular item-" and was cut off, put on hold, and transferred back to the operator.. who then transferred me back to the sales department. I spoke to someone in the sales department called Steve and told him I was looking for a particular item and why do I just keep getting transferred back to the operator? He just said in a bored and incoherent voice- can I help you, maam? as though I hadn't said anything. After a third try I gave up. The employees at Macy's clearly have other priorities than sales.

I visited the Hearld Sq branch on 1/16 with my fiancé to purchase a white dress for our wedding ceremony. She picked out two dresses and wanted to try it on in a fitting room. She wanted me to see how it looks so I followed her in. She closed the door and I was waiting to see how the dress looks on her. As I was waiting, a lady who's a cleaning crew by the name of Maria Marquez comes up to me and yells at my face "outside outside outside" so I just walked toward the exit of the fitting room. As I'm patiently waiting, she comes up to me and yells very disrespectfully again. I asked her who her manager is and she doesn't understand what I'm saying. I grabbed a Macy's staff by the name of Lori and told her my story about what happened. She told me that she believes it's a language barrier and that she's sorry. I wasn't satisfied with her apology so she told me to speak to someone with a red name tag. I then spoke to a gentleman by the name of William with a red name tag. He proceeded to get me in contact with another manager by the name of Carolina that was very apologetic and offered to give me a store credit which I declined to accept. Eventually she gave me the lady Maria's last name so I can file a complaint to Macy's directly. How can a customer be treated in this manner by a cleaning person? If she cannot speak to customers in a respectful and professional manner in English then she shouldn't be opening her mouth at all. Yes, provided that I was in a ladies fitting room an employee does have rights to tell me to leave the room. First there is no notice that men are not allowed in there and there was no employee at all helping customers with their items like other department store such as H&M. It did not state whatsoever that Men are not allowed in there. Carolina stated that there could be perverts that want to take a peek at women changing and whatnot. I do understand the situation but an employee, especially a cleaning person that sweeps the floor should not be speaking to loyal paying customers in this manner. Carolina told me that she will have her retrained and educated about the way Maria should be dealing with customers but I'm still not happy about the situation. Please reprimand this employee as she has disrespected and alienated a customer that has been shopping at Macy's for over a decade!

Their decorations are great in this Macy store. Their staffs are professional and helpful. Usually they have seasonal decorations that I like to go and view. Most of their merchandises are high-ends. It is very enjoyable just to window shop there.

Macy's service is really going down. That doesn't apply on this store, but about ordering online. I oredered a t-shirt online and I got it without a tag, instead it was stapled with its receipt which I've never seen before and got a big hole when I took the staple! The next time I ordered 3 items, one ran out of stock after I purchased it!! and the other one was t-shirt and I got underwear instead of it!! While I got the third item that was the same t-shirt I ordered online but in a good shape this time! I wonder why Macy's keeps the online service while they are not able to do it in a good way!

Who doesn't love a day of shopping? Roam through aisles and check out items or enjoy riding the vintage escalators. Tons of food options on floors as well! Be sure not to get lost!

Even though this chain has consumed dozens of proud old local department store conglomerates and decimated most others, fulfilling the mission of homogenizing American retail, their flagship store is still a frighteningly gratifying experience. Don't go looking for a deal, or even with the intention of buying anything. Go to fully immerse yourself in the physical manifestation of the word apotheosis.

Macy's hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
