This is an example of an "Apache dance" that was popular in the Parisian underworld during the early 20th century. http://t.co/idqdNS58hC

Interested in doing research and large-scale data analysis on Google+?

I’m looking for a summer intern interested in studying social networks and diffusion of information.

We’re looking for PhD students with an interest in studying online behavior in communities, experience in statistical programming (R) and data munging (Python), and an excitement for turning research insights into improving Google+.

Contact me if you’re interested!

Computational social science, Northeastern post-doc
Introduction
I am a post-doctoral research fellow in computational social science at Northeastern University. My research examines the responses of socio-technical systems to surprise, developing predictive models of elections, and online behavioral experiments.

I received my PhD from Northwestern University's Media, Technology, and Society program in 2012. My dissertation, co-chaired by Darren Gergle and Noshir Contractor examined how Wikipedia responded to breaking news events. I received bachelors degrees in mechanical engineering and science and technology studies at MIT in 2006. I graduated with an International Baccalaureate degree from Green Valley High School in Henderson, Nevada in 2002.
