I never expected to witness the slow suicide of a country, a civilization. I suppose nobody does. Let me tell you, there’s nothing epic about it. We who have the privilege of travel often look down…

Howzabout this for a ‪#‎ThrowbackThursday‬? It was 20 years ago that the Sony Pictures Classics movie Caught (1996) hit theaters. Directed by Robert M. Young and starring Edward James Olmos & Maria Conchita Alonso as the parents of a homicidal-comedian son (played by a certain dude named Steven Schub.) Best thing I ever did.

"You just can't be sad while listening to ska." - Heather Augustyn, as quoted in today's Los Angeles Times:

And The Fenwicks & HaSkaLA could not agree more! :)
Gabriel Zavala remembers his time in the 1980s ska scene when cliques promoted division and violence was prevalent.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away The Fenwicks shared a manager with the late, great Jeff Buckley & we sometimes rehearsed next to each other at Montana Studios in NYC. (We Fenwicks never got much rehearsing done when we did.) Hear Jeff’s voice & you’ll know why. Previously unreleased Jeff Buckley cover of The Smith’s “I Know It’s Over” here:
