after reading the reviews here I decided to see for myself if this was described accurately. So on a rainey saturday afternoon my wife, son and I went on an aquariums visit around vancouver. Yes the store is a bit crowded and a ton of stock both fish and merchandise. Lots of 50% specials and I did check expire dates on food and all looked ok. However The tanks although not super pretty like aqauriumswest but the fellow had a ton a variety and prices where fair. The where a few used tanks available and good advise if you ask nicely. The fellow has been here on fraser for 35 years and will be moving in sept 2014 to 6066 main. I purchased some anubias plants @$5 and a java fern Ill be back to buy more.

This place is filled with dirty, overcrowded tanks of fish. Lots of dead and near-dead ones. There's not really a good selection - mostly just tetras, danios, dwarf aquatic frogs, and a couple of expensive/high-profile species like discus and arowanas. The staff were also rather rude to me, choosing to read magazines instead of look at me and answer my questions properly. It seemed like they just wanted me out of their shop. I bought some superworms but will not be going back there again. About the only good thing there is the deals on used large tanks. But that's why we have Craigslist, right?

Beloved pleco had a jump-out-of-tank accident recently, and I was in need of a number of supplies. After looking both at local fish store and Big Al's, and not finding what I need, went to Fraser Aquarium on a hunch. Their staff is friendly, prices much better than other stores, selection is awesome, stocking multiple brands for each type of item instead of only nutrafin products. I was able to purchase air tube by the foot, as well as an API master test kit for $25. Very happy with the store, will definitely stop buying fish products elsewhere.

There's a 50/50 chance of getting a healthy fish or an unhealthy fish the tanks are a bit overcrowded and dirty but still liveable in.

Don't bother wasting time at this fish store as the fish and tanks are all ill and unhygienic looking. The person working there was very rude and unhelpful almost seems like he wants to you get out. Very uneasy vibe in there. There are plenty other stores around that will offer help with healthy and clean environment!

Unhealthy overpriced fish in dirty tanks pretty much sums it up. Turtles in tanks barley big enough to turn around in. Just a sad place overall. I only recommend this store if you don’t have any other options.
