Ha, great post. And, yes, absolutely. I ALWAYS fall into the black hole of research. That's why it's better to just put a place marker where you need to research, but sometimes, the scene you're writing is highly dependent on your research. You did an excellent job with Mission to New Earth, making the scientific facts interesting, and keeping the emotion as well. Love this story!

I would love to do this! I can see I'm a little late, but I'd love to play catch up. I already have a set Friday weekly blog post, but I suppose I could have two posts in one day. :) AliciaMDean@aol.com- If it's not too late!

Thank you, thank you, for your through and honest assessment. This article is fabulous. I know this is an old blog post, but I've just discovered it. This issue has been discussed recently among some author loops of which I'm a part. Coincidentally, I expressed MANY of the same ideas you did, almost verbatim, and I received a great deal of support, but on one loop, I was lambasted and humiliated. They were outraged that I dared to suggest free books devalued our work. I actually started a 'movement' if you will to attempt to bring awareness and hopefully curb some of the insanity of free books. Here is the Facebook group if anyone is interested in checking it out. https://www.facebook.com/groups/604361846382896/?fref=ts
