Open University Live Discussion:
Landing on a Comet
The OU video above answers 5 questions about the Rosetta landing .
The talk is entitled Landing on a Comet: What we
found from Rosetta and how we are applying it on
Earth. It will be streamed live on Tues 17 Feb 2015
from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

A day of FREE talks and discussion by eminent
scientists and magicians for all ages will be held at
Edinburgh University in the Students Debating Hall.
The theme of the event celebrates 2015 as the
International Year of Light. Speakers  include Prof
John C. Brown (Astronomer Royal for Scotland) and
Prof Chris J. Lintott (Uni. Oxford, BBC Sky at Night).
The event will be held on Sat 28 March from 9.30am
until 5.00pm and is highly recommended.

Tributes to Prof. Pillinger  who passed away this week .
Professor Pillinger  was a former Professor of Planetary sciences at the Open University .
 He was best known as the father of the beagle 2 Mars mission .

The Anderson High School has invited Dr Pauline Gagnon

from CERN to visit Shetland. Dr Ganon will be speaking on

"The Hunt for the Higgs-Boson" at the Town Hall in Lerwick

on Saturday 30 Nov at 7.00pm.

Entrance is free but representatives from the Anderson

High will endeavour to sell you some raffle tickets !
