Introduction

'’There’s no place like home and it doesn’t get much better than living out my dream as a sports anchor in my hometown with friends and family. Add a plate of green chile chicken enchiladas into the mix and that’s a wrap!’’

A graduate of West Mesa High School with a degree from the University of New Mexico, Orlando Sanchez returns to Albuquerque to anchor sports on Action 7 News.

While sports anchor and host at KFDX-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas, Orlando covered basketball’s NBA finals and World Series baseball games. He even proposed to his future wife on live TV, “Easily the most nervous I’ve ever been”.

In his spare time, Orlando enjoys basketball and bowling, “If I can score in the triple digits it’s a good night”.

“I’ve been lucky enough to cover some amazing moments in sports…but there’s nothing more rewarding than covering high school sports and giving local athletes their time to shine.”
