I am very hesitant to say this as we have been eating at East Cove for a lot of years. It’s my wife’s favorite restaurant and I never want to disappoint her or the places she loves. However I have noticed the last few times we have come to dine, while the quality of the food seems fine the quantity has been compromised a lot. We normally spend around $70 to $80 each time we come food and tips. When I spend that much money I want a good meal. For example – I had the Fish/Crabmeat item last Sunday and I knew to order three rolls because of the size! I was shocked at how little was served and how much that meal cost. $26! Shameful! I am an Adirondacker , have lived here most of my life and I know folks up here want a hearty meal. I’m sorry but lately your place does not fit the bill. One more thing – if you want to see what a salad bar should look like – go to Sweet Basil in Queensbury. It may be awhile before we return!

The East Cove Restaurant was an overall great place to go. I would give them 4 out of 5 stars. When we arrived, they gave us water and bread to hold us over until they could process our orders. Even if we weren't tired, this was a thirty minute wait until we got our drinks and appetizers. Forty-five minutes until we got our entrees. BUT. Our food was amazing. Hands down amazing. My prime rib was flawlessly cooked to perfection and I am a picky steak guy. The Alfredo sauce was also perfect. We will be back again. Hopefully the wait for the food will be better and allow me to 5 star these guys!

Been here on other occasion's and not a bad place. My last stop was 11-30-13 and I was very disappointed. I purchased a Groupon and my total bill came to $59 and they added in there gratuity at $14 and charged for refills on soda which they never have before. Groupon user beware, I will not b back anytime soon.

Seeing some of the great reviews, we decided to head over to the East Cove since we're staying right across the street for a week at Lake George. I have to say it was the WORST mistake ever and we had an awful time. We were not greeted with a friendly demeanor. We were handed our menus and given a seat, we arrived just before 6:30 (when the early bird specials end) and was still given an early bird special menu. When the waitress finally came around about 10 minutes later to take our order she would not let me order from the early bird menu as it was a few minutes past 630.... Why give us the menu then, we were seated before 630. Not only that she informed me that the "Jack Daniels pork chopS" was in fact, only one chop. So for starters they weren't looking good and we've only been there for 10 minutes. The bread was hard and cold although wrapped as if warm. The seafood (clams for the clam chowder and the shrimp) needed to be cleaned better, the rice was undercooked, the salad was bitter and wilted, the dressing tasted kind of funny, the free cole slaw they gave us with the bread tasted sour, and the pork chops were ok but nothing near as nice as what is talked about in other great reviews (heck, I can cook a better tasting pork chop on the grill juicy with flavor). On top of it all the waitress was flat out awful and the WORST part of the experience. Not once did she come by after delivering the different courses of our meal to ask how things were, or ask if we needed anything (like refills... I understand refills of soda aren't free but they should have offered to refill my water) Last of all, when we asked to speak with a manager we got to speak with the OWNER who just DIDN'T CARE ONE BIT. The only redeeming quality was a 10% AAA discount which still came out to over $62 for the two of us.

Very nice dinner tonight. I had steak and coconut shrimp and my wife had the chicken picata. Both dishes were well prepared and tasty. Our server was great and overall a great evening.

Food was terrible. Waitress had a huge attitude problem. Food took 45 minutes to get to our table and it was NOT worth the wait. 2 specials were ordered along with a burger and a chicken salad. Best part of the dinner was the side of sweet mashed potato and the iced water

My last stop in the area brings me to East Cove. Although the charming decor is olde stlye, the fare is just okay. Medium rating at best. I wish I were able to visit longer, but Italy beckons me. To summize without insult, the food is very basic and nothing special.

I first happened on East Cove back in the summer of '96 and had a delicious meal that day that I have raved about ever since! Though only an hour drive away,we just never happened to stop in again. Over the years I have recommended the place to many friends. This year,my 25 year old son went there with some friends (his first time there) and couldn't believe how nice it was there and how delicious his meal was. Soooo, this weekend, while in town for the car show, we decided to go for dinner. When I called early in the day to make our reservations, I was greeted with an answering machine. I left my number and thought perhaps we might have tomake other plans. No way, the owner himself called me back as soon as he got my message! Enough of all that, on to the meal. We had a fabulous meal, and enjoyed every mouthful. I personally had the Blackened Tuna Steak and though I have eaten it at many different places, none could hold a candle to last night's dinner. Truly perfect! Spiced and cooked toperfection! Before leaving, I introduced myself to the owner, and had a very nice talk with him and his wife. When we departed the restaurant, we not only went away pleasantly fed, but felt a warm glow from having a nice experience. More business owners should take notice of the pleasant nature shown to us.
