A Dickens Parlor Christmas
Friday & Saturday, December 16 & 17, 2016 6 pm.
Spend an evening in Christmas Past with Jennifer Emerson, historic interpreter, author, and Dickens enthusiast, as she presents a dramatic reading from the classic: “ A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens.

Enjoy the beauty of the Avery-Copp House decorated in its Victorian finery.

Admission: $20 per person. Registration Required.

Please join us for A Christmas Open House at the Avery - Copp House Museum on Sunday, December 11th from 4 pm to 6 pm.

Experience the magic of Christmas past. Explore the museum decorated for the holidays, and see how Groton celebrated years ago. Refreshments will be served.

In keeping with the museum’s annual holiday tradition, we will be accepting donations for the Groton Food Bank. Non-perishable food items and pet foods will be greatly appreciated,and we hope you will also consider a gift to our Annual Appeal.
 
Donations support museum education & historic preservation.

We were fortunate to have another perfect evening for our 'Taste of Connecticut' event last night. Thanks to the CBYD Trio, the many fine food and beverage vendors, our hard-working Board of Directors, and everyone who turned out to support historic preservation.

The Avery-Copp House will be closed today, July 30, 2016 so that our staff may participate in the Old Lyme Midsummer Festival on the grounds of the Florence Griswold Museum. We hope you'll stop by our booth, and learn all about tussie-mussies!

Please join us for the Launch Party on Sunday, June 5 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Smith-Harris House barn, 33 Society Road, Niantic. Presentation by Walter Woodward, CT State Historian and music by the Band of Steady Habits. FREE with light refreshments. Commemorative “Historic Houses bag” for the first 100 attendees.

This regional initiative includes 15,000 printed brochures, interactive online brochure and social media promotion, coordinated by the 16 historic house museums with support from the Southeastern CT Cultural Coalition, Eastern Regional Tourism District/Mystic Country, and The Day Publishing Company.
