This article reminds me of a student I met at Harvard while I was a teaching fellow. She was tremendously driven and asked me whether I thought she should apply directly to Harvard Business School, where I had just graduated. Her plan was to go from there into private equity. I told her to take some time off, see the world and do something interesting to gain some perspective on the world... She didn't take my advice, but she did get into HBS as a 23 year old (quite a feat!) and I'm guessing went on into the PE world afterwards. -I wonder if she was ever able to gain some perspective on life beyond the Ivy League definition of success...

I agree with the article: getting enough users to support a platform is hugely challenging. I think that is why you see the Facebooks, Ubers, etc of the world having done this one small market at a time...

Found this article on blockchain and watched a Ted Talk on it, but don't really feel like I really understand how it works. Have any suggestions for an article/video that goes a bit deeper but isn't too technical?
