On Thursday at Maker Camp we departed from music to explore the animal and craft worlds. Our younger campers learned to make friendship bracelets and our older ones made animals out of seed beads! This program was so successful the will be starting a teen beading club in September!

Join us for the filed trip!

Blue Man Group!

Friday's field trip takes us behind the scenes of +Blue Man Group, a show that combines music, technology and comedy with no verbal communication that appeals to people of all ages through sensory experience. Blue Man Group experiment with robots and dramatize the inner workings of the human brain. The Blue Men experiment with technology, learning it while enjoying it. Plus: They're all blue! We'll go backstage behind their Las Vegas performance to learn about how they create their instruments and technology to create a live stage show. It's going to be a very colorful day Friday at #makercamp !

You can watch the field trip on the event page, on our Google+ page (g.co/makercamp), or on our YouTube channel (http://goo.gl/Nh1KIJ).

The White House!

On Wednesday, we’re going to a very special place: The White House! We’ll meet executive chef Cristeta Comerford, who will introduce us to three places where edible things are made in the epicenter of power: the White House kitchen, garden, and beehive. Things are guaranteed to buzz tomorrow at #makercamp !

On Wednesday at Maker Camp we continue DIY Music week by making our own instruments! The harmonics sounded a little bit like kazoos but worked well!
