Earlier today, a friend sent me a message that greatly touched my heart. I felt the best way to share it with the rest of the world is by posting it on my blog.
Click the link below to read it.

It is a real life lesson shared by President Xi Jing Peng of China.

Read-on and feel free to share, comment, etc. #LifeLessons #LifeSkills #Parenting

It's been a while since I've been here and it feels like I even forgot this page. Too much to do and very little time to do it. I will try and keep my promise of posting here more often.

This is so true!
Every time I encounter challenges (which is basically every day that ends in "y”), I realize that the challenges seem to increase the moment I start focusing on them. When I choose to shift my focus from them to things I am grateful for, I start getting more things to be grateful for. True story.
~
I have now started to apply this same concept to other areas of my life. My decision is to stop majoring on minor things and for sure it is working.
~
As we start a new week I don’t know what you have purposed to focus on for the next seven days. Are you going to focus on what you have, what you CAN do, what you directly HAVE control over, or will you let your mind drive you insane by focusing on all the wrong things?
~
Focus on having the right attitude. Focus on achieving your daily goals. Focus on avoiding time-wasters. Focus on bettering yourself. Focus on learning something new everyday. Focus on self-evaluation at the end of your day.
~
Like someone said, "focus on where you want to be, not where you’ve been or where you are right now”. When you stay focused on your destination, eventually you will get there.
~
Be Ignited. Be Inspired. Be Influenced. Become the best version of yourself you can ever be.

When someone receives an award for something they've achieved, what you see there is the outcome of many behind the scene actions. But you are likely to hear some people saying stuff like, “she is so lucky”. Really? Do you know how much has gone into creating that success? It didn’t happen overnight. It is the result of little efforts made consistently over a period of time.
~
The same is also true for failure. Many people like sticking to this ONE definition of failure: lack of success. Let me introduce another definition of failure that most people conveniently ignore.
~
Failure can also be defined as the omission of expected or required action. Say that again loudly so you can understand it better: "the omission of expected or required action”.
~
Let’s break it down by applying this definition to real life scenarios.
~
a) You are a student and you know you have exams coming in 6 weeks. You are EXPECTED to study but you do not until the last week to exams. How will you manage to study content covered over a period of 9 weeks for 8 subjects in 1 week? You will FAIL.
b) You are in a relationship but you don’t do the little “sweet, silly, childish” things that grow a healthy relationship. Over time you grow apart and eventually separate. Who do you blame? The gods of love? No. You FAILED to play your part and you gradually came apart.
~
Some times we fail in life not because we were dealt the wrong cards, but because we consistently FAILED to do the little things we were meant to do.
~
Would you be honest with yourself and admit where you have FAILED “intentionally"? The best way to overcome this kind of failure is to learn from your mistakes and make a fresh resolve to SUCCEED on purpose.
~
Be Ignited. Be Inspired. Be Influenced. Become the best version of yourself you can ever be.

People who know who they are don’t waste their time complaining. They have tuned their minds to be positive no matter what. They always look for something to be grateful for. To them, the glass is never half empty; it is always half full.
An attitude of gratitude will always create room for more things to be grateful for. This is a proven fact.
But what surprises me most is not the fact that gratitude attracts more to be grateful for, but it is the fact that gratitude stirs an inner sense of fulfillment that is inexplicable.
It is for this same reason that people who are always complaining seem unhappy and angry at everything they come across including the neighbor’s donkey.
Here's the secret: The more you complain, the more you get more reasons to complain.
Complaining gives birth to bitterness, resentment, anger, etc.
Stop complaining and start appreciating.
