The USA was talking about switching to the Metric system more than 40 years ago, and yet we have done very little to transition to it.
Perhaps if more people signed this petition with the White House, they would make an official response and get it back into the education system.

Interesting.  I look forward to control of the apps.  With Google adding this feature, it should work pretty well once finished.

So it's true!  I am not the only person that wants this. :)

“These are the best times we’ve ever had in search. I have done this for 22 years, and I've been at Google for 12 years, so I should know. This is the most exciting time—every morning I come into work more excited than ever. Strap in. It's all happening in our lifetimes.”

What has +Amit Singhal so excited? +Slate goes behind the scenes with his Knowledge team to learn about our attempt to build "the Star Trek computer."

U.S. government agencies claim they don't need a warrant to ask for private content—such as Gmail messages, documents, photos and YouTube videos. (Here at Google, we push back.) We urge reform to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) to require a warrant for online info, just like for offline.

If you're in the U.S., sign this petition to the White House today—we need 100,000 signatures to guarantee a response: http://goo.gl/N2C7Uu

A warning about Copy.com cloud storage service, as they have very poor Customer Service.

I decided to try their cloud storage service on April 25, 2013 as recommended by others.
It seemed to work ok with the free storage, so I opted to upgrade to paid storage on April 28, 2013.
After using it for about 3 weeks, and comparing it with Google Drive and Dropbox, I decided I didn't like it enough to want to keep using the paid version.

On their website, I clicked to downgrade back to free storage, then save settings.  It showed the new settings were saved.  Then it refreshed itself and went back to  the paid setting.  What?!

So I contacted the support department and explained what happened, and I want the paid storage cancelled.  This was on May 17th, 2013.
3 days later, on May 20th, 2013 I received an email from them stating they will investigate and escalate the issue, and contact me back when it is done.

Then nothing.

To my surprise, today, on May 28th, 2013, my credit card was charged again.  I contacted my bank and they will attempt to reverse the charges.  However the bank stated the only way to be sure they won't do it again, is the cancel the credit card, and have a new one with a different # issued.

If you were thinking of using the paid version of Copy.com, you may want to consider other choices, like Google Drive or Dropbox.  At least with their systems, when you downgrade or cancel, it happens immediately.

It's silly that some of the carriers block the use of Google Wallet.
If you agree, please sign and share.

Good morning all, I have been having a petition going for quite some days now and I hope to add more signatures to my list. I'd like to ask for your help with that. If you can repost to your accounts, or other accounts... Get friends and everyone you know to sign it if you agree with me.

If you don't agree with me or all of us who signed it, thank you as well.

Looks like a good start, but I will believe it after it gets passed into law.
