Do you believe in the Easter Bunny? The Loch Ness monster? Big Foot? ... Now, do you believe that the first 10 questions of the GMAT count the most toward your total final score?

Gotcha! That is a popular GMAT prep myth that can bite down on your test success harder than Godzilla.

In his latest blog post, our own GMAT guru Dr. Amar debunks several myths that keep being repeated but just aren't true:

GMAT introduced another change – you can now only take the exam eight times overall (and still only five times a year).

In his newest blog post, our own GMAT guru Dr. Amar talks about how to go after your first or second try at the GMAT, and avoid reaching No. 8:

Happy Veterans Day! If we have learned anything from our military students, it is that when the going gets tough, the tough get going.

So, for this Veterans Day, Dr. Amar is sharing advice for GMAT preparation and MBA applications from veteran Nicole (now at Yale SOM) and military officer Steve (now at Emory University's Goizueta Business School). ... Their advice is also important for civilians, too!

Is there an underground manual used by a Secret League of GMAT Gurus to unlock the secrets of the GMAT?
.........................................Uh, no. But there is an official GMAT book that our own GMAT guru, Dr. Amar, recommends. This a must-read for any of you who are just starting out your GMAT prep:

Thank you to Christopher Alemán of Kellogg School of Management for spending so much time with our GMAT students, talking about MBA admissions, describing the school's curriculum and opportunities, and fielding questions ... for two hours! (Now, that's dedication.)
