While I am fussy when it comes to BBQ (coming from the south), I was pleasantly surprised with SoulFire. While not the best BBQ I've ever had, it was good and priced well. While I love the pulled pork, oddly enough my favorite is the chili, which is a steaming bowl of smokey goodness. A huge surprise was their collard greens. Given the dish is not popular in the Northeast, many restaurants either omit all together or serve you some watered down gloppy mess of greens. SoulFire's greens are tasty, with just the right touch of sweetness.

Great beer selection. Very friendly staff and I've never really had to wait for a seat. All You Can Eat wings is kind of expensive compared to other place's wing deals, but these are amazing. Huge chicken wings with four different sauces you can pick and choose or get a mix. It's well worth it.

The barbecue is super cheap and amazing! The pulled pork sandwich is to die for. They give you unlimited helpings of their homemade sauces that are all very good. It is a nice place to grab a bite to eat without needing a reservation. Their fried mac and cheese is also a favorite!

This place is fantastic. I moved from SC to Boston recently and I can say this place is as good as BBQ I've had in the south. Besides having great food, their customer service is top notch. I accidentally put in a pic up order at their Mission Hill location instead of their Allston location. When I there, they didn't have it and checking with their other location confirmed my mistake. The manager there immediately said there would be no problem, had the other location cancel the order and started making it there. Definitely an example for other restaurants to go by.

Came here on a weekday evening for a group dinner. We arrived around 7 PM and had no trouble getting a table. Our waitress was very nice and attentive The venue is very hip. There are large tables that can seat 4-5 people, as well as couple smaller tables and seats at the bar. The food was a truckload of smoky, meaty heaven. We ordered the "Serves 4 Souls" set which, as the name suggests, is meant to serve 4 people. Let me tell you that this could comfortably feed 5 hungry eaters! Three of us ended up bringing home leftovers. Not one of us left with even a millimeter of empty belly after that meal. The cornbread was probably my favorite part. However, for the diehard carnivores, the ribs and pulled pork were the winning meat selections of the evening. I thought the chicken was very tender, but nothing that special. I hate super-soft pasta in my Mac n' Cheese, so this one was pretty underwhelming. All of the sauces are mild except (of course) the Fiery sauce. That one left a distinct burn on the tongue for a few seconds. I love me some spicy food, so it was actually my favorite sauce. :)

Soulfire has been one of my favorite local bbq joints, but has seen some slippage lately. Brisket and ribs seemed a little dried out, maybe from being kept warm too long. This has been a trend that other friends have noticed lately also. Good, but a step back for sure.

This place is one of my go-to restaurants. There usually is no wait, but the best is the take out. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The food is consistently good and really inexpensive compared to other BBQ places in the area. They have some big TVs so it's a good place to go and watch a game with some friends. The beers are good too and they have big platters you can share!

This place is one of the cheapest BBQ offerings around the greater Boston area. They offer some unique options, like fried mac n' cheese bites, and great platter options. My boyfriend usually gets the 1/2 hickory chicken with coleslaw and potato salad/mac 'n cheese. The 1/2 chicken may look dry from the outside, but it really is succulent and rich in flavor. Also, this is a much healthier option over the pulled pork and BBQ ribs! The coleslaw here is very flavorful and has a lot of juice that collects at the bottom. However, this is one of the better coleslaws I have tried, and it really isn't dry or lacking in crunchy texture. Their mac 'n cheese is really amazing, with BBQ crumbled flakes on top. However, the fried mac 'n cheese I would advise against, because they are just large cubed fried mac n' cheese that come in 4 pieces for a small. The regular mac n' cheese is much better.
