In addition to taking a prenatal vitamin, women can get folic acid from leafy vegetables, fruits, beans, and even some cereals. #IBXWellness http://ibx.co/bDZhB
Women can get enough folic acid by taking a vitamin pill every day. If you have a hard time swallowing pills, you might try a chewable or liquid product that has folic acid. Most U.S. multivitamins have at least 400 micrograms (mcg) of folic acid. Check the label on the bottle to be sure.

IBC really is the top insurance provider in the 5-county Philadelphia area. It has the largest network and competitive cost-sharing. I have had great experience in communicating with the Medicare department, which strives to resolve all customer issues on the first call. I can really feel that the rep cares when I have to call in. Maybe in the future, IBC can get a "live chat" function on their website.

Never had an issue! I use the IBX app to look up benefits info and my flex spending balance. Would recommend to anyone. IBC seems to be a very progressive company, they are always winning awards and sponsoring innovation events around Philadelphia.

Currently Independence Blue Cross is my insurance. In the past I have had Aetna and Horizon. By far, IBC is the best insurance I've had when it comes to dealing with customer service. I feel that they go out of their way to explain to me why a service was denied and if it needed to be corrected, they took care of it. If my employer ever changed from Independence Blue Cross to another insurance company, I would be very disappointed. I would highly recommend this insurance (and often do when I get asked the question).

IBX provides Health Advocate services as part of my benefits. Health Advocate helped me clear up an issue where a provider was incorrectly billing. So grateful for the extra help in getting this resolved! Thanks IBX for providing this service!

Great health insurance company that is innovative in health care! They are very involved in the Philadelphia community, the member benefits and perks are great and their customer service is prompt and reliable. Highly recommend.

They are by far the best choice for health insurance in the Philly area. I recently had a minor accident and thought I needed stitches. Didn't want to go to the emergency room, so I decided to try the urgent care place near my house - but didn't know if they accepted my insurance... The person I checked in with immediately reassured me when I told her I had Independence Blue Cross. I've never been to a doctor or hospital who did not accept my Independence plan - and that gives me a really great feeling of security.

I believe that IBC is a good company that does very well by its members and providers, especially given the current state of the insurance marketplace. I do not doubt that members and providers have issues with and complaints about IBC. However, I do not think these situations are indicative of the overall relationship the company has with its customers.

I am grateful that I have Independence Blue Cross as a health carrier. I have had a stress fracture and a broken foot in the past 5 years and my Blue Cross plan took care of my treatment and rehab / recovery with little to no added stress on for me as a patient and an employee.
