I was born on a power ship...

A "power ship" you say. Had never heard of such a thing until I read a piece by Busisipho Siyobi this week. She would appear to be a smart person from the South African Institute of International Affairs #SAIIA. I then Googled "power ship" and I fell upon images of massive, floating, generating systems.

Surprise!

Pierre Nkurunziza, has won a "landslide" victory to serve a third five-year term as President of Burundi. He took in 69.41 percent of the vote – a full 50 percentage points ahead of his leading opponent, Agathon Rwasa. Britain, the US and other nations have called "BS" on this one following the harassment and intimidation of the opposition, of rights activists, of journalists and of course, voters.

Global mining firm #Glencore said on Wednesday it will cut about 380 jobs at its Optimum Coal subsidiary in #SouthAfrica after the closure of some operations at the mine.
