There's nothing to gripe about here or maybe I'm not that type. Stellar food all around, highlights include: mac and cheese, wings, steak tips, the burger. This was a regular stop for nearly 3 years. It was hard to resist a Fernet shot and a High Life. Best-priced wine list in the city with a small, but thoughtful selection that rotates frequently. In fact, you'll often find wines selling for less than their retail price. Past examples include Sine Qua Non [cult syrah], Nicolas Joly Clos de la Coulée Serrant [chenin blanc], and Dagueneau [sauvignon blanc]. Service: Magnificent. There's a reason why I've checked in over 50+ times on Foursquare.

I thought the vibe at Silvertone's was nice - active and crowded, but you could still have a conversation. The prices are reasonable and the food is decent. The service was good. Downtown Crossing is revitalizing so it will be interesting to see what happens to the old standbys like Silvertones. I think it will continue to be a great spot to grab a drink and a bit before a movie/going out.

Skeptical at first, but the food and staff was great. Would certainly go back again. The Cajun chicken rocked.

Silvertone is the first place I went out in Boston, and it left a lasting positive impression of my new home city. The drinks are large, expertly made, and inexpensive. The bar is low-key yet classy, and while the seating area is small I've never had more than a 15-minute wait. I've been fixated on the steak tips ever since my initial visit, but I have friends who are equally stuck on the mussels and mac and cheese. This joint is great for dates, groups, nuns and the elderly. Maybe don't bring a baby, though.
