Visited The George Inn for some drinks with friends one evening. We sat outside in their beer garden, in one of the new boothes. It was really nice - comfortable, a good atmosphere, and easy to talk to others. We then went inside because it was getting late. I loved the detail inside - real candles on each table, and amazing looking food whizzed by. There was a jovial quiet atmosphere inside with pleasant and attentive waiting staff. I think the bar man actually said goodbye as we left. A very pleasant mini adventure into Eton!

They show a good range of films, from the independent to the mainstream. Shown in a lecture hall, the seating is good. They've installed a really good surround sound system in there! It has a relaxed atmosphere, and the tickets are cheap. Food is not openly welcome, but just ensure you tidy up afterwards. Parking is good in the large university car parks.

Friendly staff, coffee tastes good, good place to sit and wait for friends. Only downside - the Pain Au Raisin is a bit rubbish. Pain Au Raisin snob 😀

Met all my expectations. Lovely pub, served food until 4pm on a Sunday. Wanted a roast, ordered roast lamb, and it came back perfectly! Everything was cooked well, with good portions, and with attention to detail, e.g. potatoes cooked in goose fat, swede mash had butter in, parsnips had a honey flavour, etc. Food arrived within about 10 minutes, and for a very reasonable price. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful - happily bringing us another jug of gravy when I asked for it. We then walked to the leather sofas near the fire, and chilled out and digested! It was so nice, we almost forgot to pay! I just wish there had been enough time to order dessert - they stop food at 4pm on Sundays. Parked in the nearby shopping car park (free on Sundays) and it was a very short walk).

Good music, lots of space, secret garden (smokers garden, but also a place to get fresh air). Can take a while to get served, because of the cocktails being made. Cloakroom doesn't open til late. But the atmosphere is really good, and it has a good crowd.

Went on a Sunday - roast day! Lovely large venue. The front area is a lovely area for people and their dogs, with bowls of water on the floor. It had a really nice feel to it. Like others have said, staff were really friendly. While I was waiting for a table, I noticed one table complaining that their food was cold, and the immediately took it away to warm up. We were given a table and told it would be 45 mins for food. That was fine. We ordered drinks, but after 10+ minutes nothing arrived. We think they were sitting on the counter, and so we took them. Although, it was a Lager (not a larger-top), and coke (not a diet coke). The table to our left with no food, looked really disgruntled. Then another table nearby complained about their food being cold. We didn't it wasn't worth the risk, and went somewhere else. To be fair, the waitress did try to ensure our food came within 10 minutes ("We DO cook it from fresh you know..."). But it was meant to be a treat for my girlfriend, and I didn't want an annoying end to a good day.
