This book was alright - but it was obviously not catered to people my age.  This book might be a lot of fun for middle school or young high school aged girls, though.

Great post.  Can't say how many times I've found a book to be severely lacking in nearly everything, go to Amazon to look at reviews, and see that it has an average 4.7 rating, with a lot of 5 star ratings just saying "Great!" when I would be hard pressed to give it a 3.
5-star book reviews offer the endorsement and validation writers seeks. But the recent deluge of perfect ratings suggests a problem with honest feedback.
