Google.com wasn't owned by Google for 1 min!
Ex Google employee Sanmay Ved  purchased "Google.com" for just $12. Rather than receiving the typical email informing him of his domain purchase, Ved was updated with messages for the Google.com domain owner. He received emails with internal information as well as access to the webmaster controls. Ved reported this to Google’s security team. A minute later the sale was cancelled and Ved was Refunded his $12.
