Poachers Mauled on South African Game Reserve by Lion Pride – Lions to remain status quo.

At least three poachers have been mauled to death by a pride of lions after they trespassed on a South African Game Reserve. The attack is believed to have occurred overnight on July 2nd. Hawaii is 1st USA State to Ban Coral-Damaging Sunscreen

By penning a historic bill this week, Hawaii will become the first U.S. state to ban the sale of coral-damaging sunscreen that contains chemicals known to destroy coral reefs. The legislation will take effect beginning January 1, 2021. Carp are fun to shoot with a bow; now they’re also a hot commodity–for those who know how to market them. In Two Rivers Fisheries in Kentucky it’s morbidly satisfying to watch silver carp being fed to a band saw. Especially the sound. Floridians Beware of Poisonous Southern Flannel Moth

Floridians should beware of the poisonous Southern Flannel Moth (also known as a puss caterpillar). This particular caterpillar or moth is regarded as dangerous because of its venomous spines. Exposure to the caterpillar’s fur-like spines will lead to an immediate skin irritation characterized by a, grid-like hemorrhagic papular eruption with severe radiating pain. Hawaii Issues Citations to Lava Loiteres

Another warning today for people to stop sneaking around check-points in Lower Puna to try and get close to active lava flows. Saturday officers from the DLNR Division of Conservation and Resources Enforcement (DOCARE) cited an additional eight people for loitering in a disaster area under Hawai‘i County Code. This brings to 18, the number of citations DOCARE has issued during the last week to people for by-passing check-points and entering dangerous areas.
