The place was recommended by a local waiter as we prefer local places to any chains. This was worth the walk from the arch for any tourist. The burgers were spot on & the teenage kids loved the shakes. Great variety, huge salads & the staff was very friendly & accommodating to my 'picky eater'. This is a fun place to go to in the downtown area. I would eat there again for lunch

We have been to this location before and have never had the experience that we had tonight. Our evening started celebrating a special occasion. Our friend was in from out of town and we wanted to take them to somewhere interesting and different; so we brought them to Range. Amanda was our server and she was friendly and polite. She seemed to be the only one, besides the young man running all the food, that was working in the restaurant. Where we were sitting we could see the entire kitchen, hostess station, and service area. We placed our order and waited. When our food came, the burgers were cooked incorrectly. I ordered mine medium well. When I received it, it was still bleeding, no exaggeration. The waitress seen this, apologized and took my order back to the kitchen while the rest of my party was eating. I watched as the kitchen staff socialized with a friend that was visiting them, not visibly working. The 2 people at the hostess station where joking around and the rest of the service staff, all but the bartender, food runner, and our server, was chatting and joking around also. After 10 minutes of our server constantly going to the kitchen area asking for my food order and getting blown off, she finally got my burger. However, when I cut into it, again it was rare; more so than before. Again my our waitress seen this and apologized. I told her that I was finished and just wanted the check for my party. Though our waitress was doing her best, she still wasn't able to keep up with us or her other tables. The restaurant was not even busy this evening. Our party left very unhappy and still ended up paying over 25 dollars for 2 burgers, a large order of fries, and 2 drinks. At one time, this was one of our favorite places to eat in the city. I am not pleased at all with the experience I had this evening. It will be a very long time before I give them another chance, if ever. I hope the owner Dave Bailey is aware of the impression his staff is making. At no time did we see a manager.

They have a nice atmosphere, our waitress was very friendly. It took a while to take our order and make the food, faster than most restaurants, but slower than I had expected for a burger. The burgers were fine, not the sort of mouth watering delicacy most seem to claim and seemed a bit expensive (11$, no fries), but a lot better than the average fast food place and there were many interesting toppings. The fries were great, freshly made from actual potatoes. Restrooms seemed about on par with what you would find in most public places. The only thing that was truly amazing are the milkshakes, they make all the ice cream themselves and tastes delicious, especially strawberry (!!). Overall pretty nice if you have ~2h time, but don't expect miracles. Patty's should've been a bit thinner but bigger around. Edit: We got a big bottle of water each free of charge after being seated.

Great burgers, good beer list, delicious shakes, and good fried pickles. Service a little slow for a lunch, but NBD

Great food, good beer selection. Sriracha ketchup is to die for. Bison burger is great, if a little greasy and drippy. very good fries. Great chicken fingers.

I got talked into going to Range for the 3rd time today, and ONLY because Jack Patrick's was closed. Again, I was duped into thinking a place that touts itself as a gourmet burger bar could handle making a rare hamburger. For the 3rd time (over the course of 3 years or more) I was proven wrong. The burger was kind of rare, but was so poorly cooked that it fell apart after the first bite, and I was left eating a loose meat sandwich by the end of the meal. I am flummoxed at how terrible the chefs are at this place. They've had years to hire quality talent, but now that I've been there 3 separate times, I can safely conclude they'll always be serving the most overpriced, unimpressive burgers in the city, but as long as they serve the fries with fancy ketchup, tourists will still give them 5 stars. Additionally, I found out that Range is also a burger bar that absolutely refuses to give you any "regular" ketchup. So, yeah. I hope your beard comb is clean because this place is for hipsters with trust funds, and no one else.

Everyone else has had awesome experiences but ours was absolutely miserable. We went with a group of 10. We were seated quickly and got our drinks quickly but it took forever to get our order placed. When we did get the order, every one of our meals was char-broiled into something more like a small hockey puck than a burger. Additionally, they forgot most of our fries and the ones we got were cold. We complained and they were going to give us a discount on desert if we wanted it. My wife wrote the owner and manager an email and NEVER heard back on it. It might be an excellent place but they suck at recovering from a bad performance. I will not be back....ever.

After reading the reviews on this place I was really excited about trying their burgers. The decor of the place was amazing. The service was great due to the amount of people who were there during the lunch time rush. Now to the food. I ordered the Smoke Bomb burger and had bacon added. The combination of ingredients really brought out the taste of the burger. The only reason why i give them an okay score is because of the size of the burgers. I know they are gourmet which in my eyes, I expect better quality meat and toppings. But in this case I received a smaller sized burger on a complimentary sized bun. Now there is what I call the "burger to bun ratio". This refers to the size of the meat in ratio to where the bread ends. I was told they make their own bread which is delicious but the size of the smaller bun eludes me to think that I am getting overall smaller portions because the meat is centered in the middle and the otter ridges of the buns almost touch each other because of the absence of meat. I finished my meal that came with fries by the way but I was left with this somewhat empty feeling as for the money i spent on burgers, fries, and a lemonade that i should not have this feeling needing something else to satisfy my hunger. Maybe i should have ordered a milkshake instead of the lemonade.
