My wife and I recently saw EMA perform and we both enjoyed the venue. The roof top bar was a great way imbibe on some reasonably priced, canned adult beverages. The bar staff was top notch and we didn't have any issues with the bouncers at the door. We're looking forward to seeing another show at the Rock N Roll hotel in the near future.

I am writing this review to the OWNERS in regards to the BOUNCER only. We went out sober expecting to drink at this bar with all of our friends on 2/16/2014 at 1:10AM and this guy rejected half of our friends and let half in. We found this very odd. He was shaking very hard while holding our id's (We all thought he was on drugs if not withdrawling). We are going to not only tell everyone that reads this review but also beware going to this bar at night. It will not be worth your time. We thought it was going to be a great place to go to, but apparently they only let the drunkest in. BUYER BEWARE!!!! YOU NEED A NEW BOUNCER YOU KICKED OUT HUNDRED OF DOLLARS FOR NO REASON AT ALL. WHEN YOU HAVE A DRUGGIE RUNNING YOUR DOOR IT REFLECTS ON YOUR BUSINESS. AND YOU BUSINESS PAYS YOU BILLS.

It might depend on the show but this place had a kind of grungy vibe that I wasn't expecting. It was dark, cramped, and hot in the main downstairs room where the bands play and there is nowhere to sit. It is also fairly difficult to get to compared to other venues in DC. Unless it was an Amazing band, I wouldn't go here again to see a show.

The bouncer, was hateful. He does not know how Puerto Rican licence looks like and that is even a US licence. He "threaten" me to call the police because my licence was "fake", I hope he had done it! He was racists and discriminates towards, Puerto Rican's and Hispanics!! I don't recommend it!! Don't go there!!

Smaller music venue on H street. They have some good up and coming bands. It's fun to hang out upstairs before the show.

Great venue for concerts. Upstairs offers room for reservations. Recommend going up to the rooftop during the winter for a Hot Toddy.
