If you looking for a basic breakfast, skip the often long wait and go to a nearby casino or other "regular" restaurant. Seriously, how much better do bacon, eggs, and coffee have to be to wait for over an hour? That said, if you are looking for something different, the wait is very well worth it. I had the scrambled eggs with lobster and it was amazing. You sure won't find that at any Denny's! So if you are of the adventurous sort, find your way to the Log Cabin Café. Otherwise, see you at McD's!

We must have gone during the off season because there was no wait at all. Out waitress was pleasant and attentive. The decor is rustic, featuring a local quilt artist. We loved the food. I hade biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. The eggs were very good, tender but not soggy. The gravy has something extra that makes it better than normal white gravy. I couldn't put my finger on it. My wife had a scramble with sharp cheddar, ham, and olives. She raved about the eggs as well. The potatoes were cooked well but not in the style I prefer. Great diner coffee also. If we come back during tourist season it will be worth the wait.

Great place for brunch. Quaint. Lots of great items on the menu...but be sure to get the Belgian Waffles and Pancakes! Get reservations for big groups.

As a local, I have had enough mediocre experiences over the last 12 years at the log cabin to never (voluntarily) go there again. I recently was given a $25 gift certificate so I figured I'd go for a free breakfast. I tried to give my gift certificate to my neighbor and he didn't want it. We went early and beat the rush. I don't understand why this place is so busy or highly rated. I don't know ANY locals who go there. The decor is cozy, but it is always loud and cramped. The bulk of the noise was coming from the (open) kitchen where the staff was talking unnecessarily loud. The menu has lot of variety and the portions are large, but the quality is on par with Denny's or a casino, but more expensive. The hollandaise sauce was thin, greasy and flavorless. The coffee was strong, but poor quality. It was only drinkable with lots of cream and sugar to mask the bitterness. Food came quick but coffee or water refills were not offered, and had to be requested. Their only redeeming quality was that the to go container was made from recycled paper, not Styrofoam. A good eco-gesture, but doesn't make up for their unpaved, muddy parking lot so close to the lake. Unfortunately there simply aren't any options for a good breakfast in Kings Beach. Hopefully this will change soon.

On the way to the airport, my husband made a u turn after he say The Log Cabin Caffe. We didn't know what to expect, but we were extremely pleased he made the turn. We wanted something a little different for breakfast, so we ordered the Lobster Eggs Benedict and the Cajun Shrimp Eggs Benedict. All I can say is WOW!! We also had a 1/2 order of the Blueberry pancakes. Delish... We loved Lake Tahoe, but we'll visit again from Atlanta just for the food at The Log Cabin Caffe...

I ordered a Cajun-Style Eggs Benedict and it was super yummy. It was quite rich and the portion was huge. It came with a side of potatoes which wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked it, but it was still good. The inside was very home-y with quilts hanging around the room. Service was just okay because it was super busy.

Great place for breakfast. Make sure to call ahead and get on the wait list during busy weekends.
