We can't choose our relatives but we can choose our friends. Sometimes it feels like we have too many and at others it feels like we are friendless. This can be particularly so at Christmas. Some of us may be invited to so many events we have a difficult time choosing which invitations to accept and worry about offending a mate if we choose to accept another offer. Others may feel be feeling alone and uncared for because they have not been invited to certain parties or events. Too many or too little social engagement is one of the stressors of the festive season. Perhaps creating a friendship map might help to clarify who's who in your zoo.

Red and Green should never be seen without a Christmas belt in between. While these might be the traditional colours for Christmas they do little to complement my complexion plus I abhor the cheesy slogans on the t-shirts. What Christmas clobber are you keen on wearing or avoiding this festive season? Why. Will you be posting Facebook photos of all the family dressed in Christmas garb and cute signs saying "Merry Christmas?"

Christmas is a great time for us humans but it can mean a change in routine, new and potentially dangerous objects around the house, more visitors entering the house, higher noise levels, not to mention all those great smells wafting from the kitchen! What special treats, gifts and preparations have you made for you pet this Christmas?

The Seventh of December is National Letter Writing Day so it is the perfect time of the year to become the reporter for your family and write up a Newsletter to enclose in with your Christmas Card this year. Make it as simple or creative as suits your needs and time frame. We chose to do a retake of the 12 Days of Christmas. We included all the significant events for each month leading up to Christmas. It was fun and easy to do. Hope it is fun and easy to read too.

Day 6 already ad still so much to do to prepare for the big day. Since we are on the road for about another 7 days we are going to be under the pump when we get home to complete all the preparations. Still we are enjoying catching up with family and friends and spending some girly time together. Have focused today on gratitude, especially since I was behaving so badly yesterday. Hope the journal prompts will help you refocus on the being thankful for all the small blessings in your life too.

Are you one of those people who love to receive mail but rarely write a letter yourself? Christmas is a time when the postman is kept very busy delivering cards and parcels. Today I am writing out all the cards I intend to send to family and friends. In wrote a list of recipients in my journal and even made up a little verse of my own. It won't compete with Hallmark Cards but hey at least it is original. Are you sending cards, and if so do you ind it a struggle to find the right words to include with your greetings?
