A hole in the wall that totally deserves its appearance on DDD. Blue corn pancakes are a total winner, as are the huevos divorciados (with both green and red chile)

Sophia's place was awesome. Months later Eli's is operating with the same menu and hasn't replaced the sign. Eli's is resting on Sophia's laurels but has altered menu items and quality. This place is terrible. Breakfast tacos- a favorite at Sophia's is now served with ordinary papas and canned pinto beans, the egg mixture looked like sloppy gruel and was served with old salsa, trying to eat them resulted in a puddle on the plate. Blue corn pancakes- billed on the menu as served with "fresh fruit" came with soggy old strawberries and dried cherries. The "pinon" butter tasted like it was left uncovered in the fridge and had some toasted chinese pine nuts on top. The coffee was weak and tepid. They even managed to ruin oatmeal! There is a reason they haven't replaced the sign, they are pretending to be Sophia's but are ruining the whole appeal.

Really great food, perfect brunch spot. Sometimes there's a lack of seating but that's just what happens at great places like this.

We were driving thru Albuquerque on a road trip & thought "why not check Food Network to see if there are any Dives from that TV show for lunch?" We found "Sophia's" from "Diners, Dives & Drive-ins" & mapped it. We pulled up to it & it had no sign - bad sign? But a worker assured us it was the place. The inside was an avg.looking dive but on the wall hung Guy Fieri's poster so we knew we should stay to check it out. We asked what they were famous for & were told "Duck Tacos" but also their best seller, fish tacos. We tried both - pricey at something like $13 & $11, but super good. Not good enough to go out of your way for, but fun to try. We like rooting for the underdog, especially in not-so-posh-"whitey" neighborhoods, so if you're up for a blue-collar no frills experience, try it!

Best breakfast burrito in Albuquerque, great fish taco's and friendly service! Missing their sign, so hard to find if you have not been there before, it's right across the street from a old car wash.
