Healthy & Delicious Snack Ideas
 

Crackers with protein dip

Rice cakes, Corn cakes, seaweed rice cracker with: nut butter; hummus; avocado and tahini; tahini (or any nut butter) dairy free, gluten free salmon dip – Try Yumi’s from the supermarket, test out a new one from Farmers Market or make your own.


Fresh fruit

Berries, mango, kiwi fruit, watermelon, pear, pineapple and mandarins


Smoothie

½ - 1 cup fruit (fresh or frozen), 1 tbsp L.S.A, 1 tbsp flaxseed oil, a sprinkle of Chia Seeds and 200ml of rice or gluten-free almond or soy milk or coconut water mixed with filtered water. Protein powder and/or 1 tsp spirulina/Barley Greens/Vital Greens powder may also be added. Experiment with your own favourite fruits and remember your veggies too!

How to treat and what is anterior compartment syndrome

Anterior Compartment Syndrome is a condition affecting the leg, typically impacting runners, dancers, and other athletes.
Pain in the....leg?
It can arise when the foot-strike pattern favours the heel, with a 'lazy' foot-slap as the front of the foot (forefoot) follows the heel to the ground. It is the job of the anterior muscles to decelerate the forefoot and control the foot slap.

If those anterior muscles are weakened or dysfunctional (such as when there is a nerve compression), they stress out and become inflamed as they try desperately to do their job. This can lead to shin splints, fallen arches, or anterior compartment syndrome.

Chiropractic treatments are based on removing interferences in the nervous system for the body to heal itself. This also means that we do not only take care of your spine, but wherever in your body that the nervous system covers.

9 Dimensions of Wellness

I feel Wellness can be summed up in 9 areas. The degree of impact that any one area has, may also have some degree of involvement in the cause, effect, and impact on another area. It’s like a ripple effect. (Which is where our logo idea came about)

Knowing that one thing can lead to or affect another. One member of Melbourne Natural Wellness, can, by coming in to see us, effect their friends and family, their workplace, even strangers by their actions and general wellness choices.

The following is a brief description of the 9 dimensions of wellness:

If you want change, you have to make changes
Plan for change, then it’s easy.

You might be one of those people who need a complete overhaul of many parts of their lifestyle, work and relationships. Or you may be doing your bit. A little exercise, eating healthily; not stressing too much. All these areas are great and you should congratulate yourself on this healthy mindset.

Ask yourself-Are you living your life the healthiest, fittest way possible? Being truly well? Or could you be a tiny little bit more proactive on your quest to achieving Ultimate Wellness? Whichever category you are in, you will need information and assistance to achieve it. This is why I had the vision for Melbourne Natural Wellness over 17 years ago. Everything you need in one place to assist people like us to achieve their vision for their own ultimate wellness lifestyle.

It doesn’t mean giving up on everything you enjoy in life either!
