Really cool backyard area with live music. Great piece of Rainey St. Sometimes it can get ridiculously crowded though. When that happens, I turn around and leave. There's no use in trying get a drink when it's packed to the rafters.

The best thing about this place is the band's they get. Their drinks are expensive but they have cheaper options available, including a shot of whiskey and an Indio for $5. Compared to the other bars on Rainey street, this is a good choice. If you are just looking to hang with friends there are way better options (see my review of side bar)

With its abundant live music and dimly-lit outdoor spaces, The Blackheart is the type of place you can settle in for the night and completely lose track of time. Choose your own atmosphere here--the front has great people watching, the inside is an intimate concert venue, and the back is an open communal area with an eclectic crowd and beautiful view of the downtown high-rises. And you can hear the music from wherever you choose to settle, so you won't miss out on any of the action. The Moscow Mule seems to be the drink of choice. I noticed that at least one person in every group was sporting a copper mug. And although the bars were busy, the bartenders were attentive and the wait wasn't long. I look forward to spending many more moonlight-bathed nights here!

I celebrated New Years Eve here with my two friends and had a blast. Every time I go to Black Heart I end up making conversations with some of the most delightful people. I love the atmosphere. The first time I went to Black Heart was last August, it began to pour rain, and many people decided to jump in the rain and dance around. I love Black Heart!

Really is a great place on an amazing street. I think in the end that is the reason for 3 stars rather than 4. There are just so many great options in Austin and on Rainey Street that BlackHeart always delivers but never WOWs enough to stop us from wanting to try other places. I'm a huge fan of the stage out back and we have seen some great bands there. Give Blackheart a try, its a great stop on a Rainey Street crawl.

I love how vintage this place in. Drinks are great. It was actually ranked one of the top 20 bourbon and whiskey bars in the country. Live music every night.

I tried to come here for an art event. But the parking was impossible.
