Rusting is another problem that can be prevented with #gutterguards. Gutter rusting is due to moisture sitting in the gutters. Gutter guards allow the water to flow freely to the downspouts and away from the house. No sitting water, no #rust. http://ow.ly/RvLJe

Natural #roof ventilation can help maintain uniform roof temperatures. Movement of cold air in the attic will help keep the entire interior roof surface cold. If you have small louvered windows at either end of the attic, known as gable vents, you may be able to replace them with larger ones to improve ventilation. http://ow.ly/RvMFA

Q. Are splash guards always needed?
A. #Splashguards are not required on inside gutter corners below a roof valley, but they are nevertheless often a good idea. Their purpose is to help prevent the high-volume run off that a roof valley usually produces from striking the gutter in such a way that some of the water overshoots and falls to the ground below. Although splash guards can help with an overshooting problem, leaves will often accumulate behind a splash guard and will sometimes have to be removed frequently. http://ow.ly/RvLYf

Cleaning gutters is one of those household chores that no one likes. Climbing ladders and scooping muck out of the gutters is just not at the top of anybody’s fun list, but what if there was an easier way to maintain clean gutters? Well there is. They are called #gutterguards. http://ow.ly/RvLBk

Open or uncovered gutters can overflow for many reasons: the #gutter may be not be sloped properly; leaves and needles may have formed a clog inside one of the downspout elbows; the #downspouts may be too small in size; or there may be too few downspouts to handle the volume of water filling the gutters.

It's hard to keep your thoughts out of the gutter when you're perilously perched atop a ladder trying to scoop your #gutter clean. http://ow.ly/Ly0B4
