This is a place to bring a date. In my case my lovely wife. Fine dining indeed. Everything from the moment we entered until we walked out was quality. The service, the drinks, the look, and the food. They have a great bar menu, brunch, lunch, dinner, Dessert, they got a menu for everything! This last time we had drinks and their steamed mussels, hamachi kama, beef tataki, all superb. Just an example of what price in serving others is all about.

Five stars for the peanut butter cookie, six stars for the The Raymond Restaurant. More words to make this a review and fool the yelp bots.

I'd really like to rate The Raymond higher. Its atmosphere and historic location is truly unique and enticing. Their cocktail program is innovative (the Cedar House?) and rather tasty while the service overall has been friendly in my experience. The big issue has been the changes to the overall menu and happy hour menu over the past few years. Prices, offerings, portions, etc. all seem to fluctuate to the point that I'm not sure what to expect when I go and often staff appears confused as well. It's an issue enough that it has prevented me from returning outside of going in for cocktails.

My fiance and I have been to this times since it opened; 2x for The Raymond Restaurant. We cannot get enough of the food, great drinks and service. Our last time there, I had the steak special, sliced sirloin medium rare served over a bed of arugula and Parmesan and my fiance got the raviolis; she get this every time! This place brings us back to our memories of Pasadena.

Exquisite cocktails and exceptional service. This is by far one of the best places for fine dining. The portions are on the small side, but when the taste is this good, you don't need large portions. Mostly, I love this place because I experienced some very special occasions here. The waitstaff is excellent and will help you create a very memorable moment that you won't soon forget. **Make a reservation.

I have loved the Raymond for 25 years. I brought my husband up there from Orange County - hadn't been there for four years, and was surprised by all the changes. I had reserved a table for my husband's 55th birthday, and told them when we made our reservation. I thought perhaps they might do something special, like a dessert with a candle. That's always a nice gesture, and Parkway Grill went all out when we went there last year with a birthday appetizer and full size dessert. I don't expect this, but it's just good customer service. We didn't get any acknowledgment of this special occasion last night. So yes, I was disappointed. Food was great, but I miss the old menu. The music wasn't really environment-appropriate for such a cozy restaurant. I don't like rock-n-roll when I'm eating by candlelight. However, the servers were very polite and accommodating.
