What  if we didn't have to look at a screen to know the location of a person? https://vimeo.com/49119086

We had a great time at the Google Creative Sandbox in Berlin! Thanks +Sabine Georg +Anne Beuttenmüller and the organizing team for initiating an awesome event and for inviting us to talk about the magical times we experience right now - and how to get involved. Big 'thank you!' to our hosts  +Indy Saha and +Lars Lehne for moderation and inspirational insights into the current work of Google's Creative Lab. The Ukulele on right sums the spirit of the event up quite well: the Creative Sandbox reserves much room for creativity of its participants! ^sk

Encapsulating sophisticated tech in intuitive and emotionally appealing objects is one of our core spheres of activity. We didn’t use the term “User Experience” too often when designing our Social Objects so far and couldn’t really judge if our physical approach of interaction would be of any interest to the UX Camp Hamburg’s crowd whatsoever. Taking place at a warm summer saturday and being both organized and populated by lots of friends we decided to just give it a try. What could possibly go wrong?

Yes, we were there and lead a wearable computing workshop at the opening day of the BMW Guggenheim Lab in Berlin.

Nice wearable design project from New Zealand:

The Little Slide Dress is a modern take on the classic Little Black Dress. It uses modern technology and blends it with a 100-year-old medium, film. The dress is constructed out of individual slide film images that are backed with LED’s. An Arduino Lilypad connected to a light sensor controls the brightness of the LED’s. The sensor reads the how much ambient light there is and uses this value to determine if the LED’s will be off or on. http://www.behance.net/gallery/Little-Slide-Dress/3932109
