Sci-fi short: Katee Sackhoff in a Power Rangers fan film

I am not familiar with the power rangers story / history, but hot damn, this military sci-fi film is not a kids flick!  It packs a punch.  A great punch.  Great production values!

In second thought, maybe that's not a good thing!

Forget ghosts and ghouls; this article has me terrified. The worst thing is; it seems to be legit.

Like a super strain of bacteria, the rootkit plaguing Dragos Ruiu is omnipotent.

I came to AOKP from CM a couple of weeks ago and am really enjoying it.
However, I've noticed that AOKP doesn't seem to have a mechanism like CM for OTA updates. The only app I've found to track and download new ROM versions is GooManager but it's not listing the MR-2 nightlies.

Is there a better way to track and download nightly releases from my phone?

I had to reinstall my OS a week or so ago and am just now installing the JRE.
After I downloaded the installer, the first thing it did was download the installer. Wait, isn't that what I just downloaded?
Now I'm half-expecting that I'll get an error from the installer telling me something like "This application requires the Java Runtime Environment to run."

Ah, Java. What would I do without it?

Does anyone have any good ways to dig into programming projects?
I have a C/C# project (Mono) that I'm trying to get familiar with but my C is a bit average and it's a bit difficult to trace the flow of the program.

Yesterday afternoon, I ran a game of Numenera for some friends of mine who have never played tabletop games. It was my first time as a GM and it went really well!

I feel like today, Melbourne has decided to do something different with the weather - it's taking inspiration from the sun.

It's nearly 6pm and still over 40°C. It's rather disgusting...

If you can spare the time, take a look at this. It's a rather exciting look at the current state of Driverless Cars (both by Google and others) and what might be expected in the future.

Also, it mentions one of the reasons that I really like Google: making amazing and cool stuff, for the hell of it.
Also, I think I want a Volvo (since I can't readily obtain a completely automated vehicle).

WIRED wrote a really informative piece about them last year. I recommend reading it.

Earlier today I was becoming quite annoyed while trying to mark the assignments of people who's code didn't quite meet the specification; causing it to fail at compile time. I'd try to fix whatever wasn't quite right, so that I could award marks for the things that did actually work.

A few hours later, I have a tester program that finds all of the expected functions in a students code. Even if they're spelled wrong or otherwise not quite properly named.
Reflection and Levenshtein Distances are amazing!

A gathering of Androids!

+Nick Waywood had his Nexus 5 at the bar yesterday. I guess the others were welcoming it to the Android family!

The sky and the ocean seem to have swapped places. Gravity is doing a good job of trying to fix it but I'm in the way!
