I only gave this 1 star because I had to. If I could, they would get no stars at all. I bought a very nice, expensive entertainment center (over $1200). The piece was badly damaged. They offered to replace it and deliver me a new one. I am now on the 4th entertainment center as every single one I have gotten was damaged. Keep in mind, I'm not picky. How many exchanges will it take until I get the proper piece of furniture that I bought, that should have been right the 1st time? They were even supposed to have somebody inspect the last one before it left the store to ensure it wasn't damaged and obviously that did not happen. On top of all of this, every time I talk to customer service and they need to call me back later or the next day, they forget to do so and I end up calling them back. Every single time. I was told several times that I would be called back the next day, I waited a week and then just called them. Also, every time I try and speak with a manager about this issue, I am pushed to this side being told that they are too busy and that customer service will continue helping me. I am now returning the entertainment center and plan on going somewhere else. Truly a bummer considering it took me a while to find exactly what I wanted (which was this piece), but I can't get one in decent shape...

It's pretty cheap furniture, which is fine and no surprise to anyone. I just don't like their sales technique. Kind of high pressure and they play games.

Update 5 STARS to 1 STAR I put a $100 deposit on an item. Called to cancel and get my deposit and I have had nothing but troubles. Had to talk to 3 people, 2 transfers, have the original credit card and driver's license (neither of which is necessary). All I heard was "This is company policy." Ugh, I hate that phrase. Somehow this justifies putting the customer through hell. So - I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER THING FROM G-W. Art Van here I come. So sad that this company's back office doesn't understand what the sales team understands - Show some love to the customer's, we are the reason you have jobs. Don't treat us poorly. Managers SHAME ON YOU for not empowering your back office. 5 STAR REVIEW INFO A+ Experience, competitive pricing, amazing next day delivery, setup team was friendly. Pricing was competitive. Knowledge was lacking, but no guesses. Salesperson asked an associate when she didn't know the answers. She didn't pressure sell. She was patient. When it didn't look like we were going to move forward, there was NOT an anxious MUST BUY TODAY, BEST price is NOW, we ONLY have 1 in stock attitude. I appreciated this tone very much. I didn't need a know-it-all and I didn't need pressure. I needed an honest sales person that was more interested in answering my questions correctly, than snagging a sale today. I did decide to purchase the Item and it was in stock and to my SURPRISE delivered the next day. The in stock was almost expected, but to have an open delivery for the next day was amazing to me. Gardner-White has the delivery details down to an email science. I got emails and voice mails and the ability to track the truck. Wow. I knew I was going to get my item. They arrived 15 mins early. How many times do we hear 1pm to 4pm and they show up at 3:59pm. In my case it was 2:30 to 4:30 and they arrived at 2:15. Setup was a respectful. The team had never installed this particular item before and there were some instructions to be read. When I pointed out a mistake, there was no bull headed response. A simple that makes sense, sorry and a fix. Also, when the bolt holes were not aligned, there so NO HAMMER. There as a calm take apart and retry. I was very complimentary to keep the positive vibe which helped. Also, I asked politely that no tools be set on other furniture and this request was honored with understanding. I realize a cherry blanket chest would make an excellent work table for a cordless screw driver, but I didn't need any scratches. Again, very honoring of my reasonable request. Now should I have had to mention this? For another debate. The cordless tool was just as happy on my carpeted floor. Nothing damaged and my furniture was assembled properly with some help of me reading instructions. I am pleased with this entire transaction. I will buy more from Gardner-White.

Worst furniture shopping experience ever. Items were priced wrong. Salesman told me things were included that really werent. Had to fight with manager to get some sort of discount due to their error in pricing. Then had to wait over 1 hr to have the furniture pulled for pickup when I was told 20mins. If I didn't absolutely love the items I would of canceled and walked away. I will NEVER shop at Gardner White again.

We went to buy a rocker for our nursery, and had the BEST customer service from Tiffany! She was so knowledgeable about what we were looking for. We went to a few other stores to be sure of our decision and went back not only for the best deal and price, but because of how awesome T was!! We will definitely be back!!

I wish I could give zero stars. Very poor customer service skills. I witnessed the delivery men color in scratches on my wood furniture with a marker. When I called rep stated that this is a normal practice. I was told I could return the furniture but I had to keep the TV even though it was unopened, untouched and just delivered. And I would be charged to keep it. Unreal. I've never experienced anything like this in my life. I will never make anot her purchase from you guys if you were the last furniture place on earth.

Words can't even explain the indignation towards your company right now. I wasn't even going to make a complaint about the egregious customer service experience my mother and I had inside the STFLD store bc the wonderful manager handled everything so eloquently in store. However, everything went from bad to worse. Vanessia or whatever her name is got in my mom's face and threatened her. We should have called the police and not bought furniture, but the store manager Karen defused the situation. Vanessia kept lying to my mother about the deals they had and when my mom questioned her about it, she proceeded to walk towards my mom and say "Girl Boom, you better get out of my face." Then a MALE came over and stood directly next to my mom with his feed wide open and hand behind his back like he was security, so that's when I had to tell him to back off of my mom. GHETTO PEOPLE!! Then the delivery men attempted to bring my couch in through my side door. Understandably, it wouldn't fit. I suggested that they come through another door like my front door or my back door, and they refused to do so. All the man kept saying was "It won't fit." I asked him how does he know if he doesn't try, he said "I just know." He said that my ceiling was too low. I advised him again to please just try, and show me that it doesn't work because you have space to go into the bathroom. Again, he said "Trust me, I don't want to put this back on my truck, it just isn't going to fit." I told him I understand what he is saying, but to satisfy me, the customer, try it and see. There are two other door options to choose from. Again, he said no. So another grown man that argued with a woman for about 20 minutes about trying another door. I told him "Fine, just bring my chest in that I ordered and I will let them know that you aren't even trying to get it in through the other door." All he said was "Fine, I'll call them for you." That pissed me off even more because it showed that he obviously just didn't care. He then told me that I could pay to have it disassembled and put back together. Why would I do that when you won't even show effort of it not fitting instead of being lazy. They were totatlly lazy and just didn't want to try. The younger guy stayed quiet the entire time, it was only the older boy that kept arguing with me. I contacted corporate and all they said is they can take my complaint and someone would reach out. No immeadite solution. I asked how long would it be before someone get s with me, I spoke with Mara and she said "Can't say what the turn around time is, I don't know what they ahve on their agenda." REALLY.... You don't know what they have on their agenda??! Seriously?!?! As if my complaint isn't warranted. I asked what would happen with my money and she said I can pay to have it disassembled (again hearing this is pissing me off even more), choose another couch, or get a refund. Nobody seems to want to help with this situation. I asked her to have the disassembly fee waved, she said I would have to contact the store directly. I feel like this is just one bad scenario after the other. I contacted the store, and what do they tell me, to go measure my doors and call them back with the measurements and it will go from there. I feel like screaming right now. Isn't this something that the delivery men could have tried? Isn't this part of what they get paid to do or no? Corporate never called the next day either. I had to leave a message with the District Manager Jeff and finally, two days later he called. All he wanted to talk about was me paying to have the furniture disassembled. Not once mentioning the behavior of the employee's there. Spoke with Pam Giacalone Regional Manager, and all she kept saying was to have the furniture disassembled. Again, why would I pay for that when they didn't even try to bring it in through another door. The deliver manager never called to apologize either. So now, we're pressing charges for the employee threats when all I want is to have my furniture and they won't make it happen.

Getting into a new house can be a very scary experience (especially if you have no furniture!). I walked into Gardner White and was immediately greeted with a friendly smile and Hello from Jinie. She showed us the true meaning of positive client experience. She took us to several different beds and let us pick out the one that felt the most comfortable. She showed us the different living room set ups and even helped pick out a good color for coordination. The next day there was a delivery mis-hap that was quickly fixed. Linda communicated every step of the way and even made sure everything was delivered that day. Linda and Jinie are quality people working for a store that values their clients, I will definitely be returning.

Does anyone know what this ‪#‎ThrowbackThursday‬ chair was called? It was usually found in homes during the 1940's. Comment below if you know what it was called!
