We’ve known that whole grains were healthier than refined products for some time, but now it appears they might actually speed up the metabolism and support weight loss. That’s great, but only a really serious health program can really deal with a weight problem. Don’t forget to take a look at the many options BHP offers!

It’s time for another question of the week. If you have any questions you’d like us to answer, tell us in the comments and we’ll see what we can do!

Question: What areas of the body can fat transfer be used for?

Answer: Fat transfer is most commonly used for buttock augmentation. We can also inject fat to the face in order to replace lost volume and fullness. Another place fat can be used is in the breasts. One should, however, keep in mind that there are limitations to using fat to increase breast size. For example, the size of breasts cannot be increased by more than one cup size and breast lifts are not possible. The transferred fat usually remains in place for many years.

Here’s a great piece on one woman’s journey after a weight loss procedure. As she says, the procedure is on your stomach, not your brain! Some adjustments are definitely needed. Fortunately BHP weight loss patients can take advantage of outstanding psychological and nutritional support.

Question: With all of the different types of injectables, how will I know which one is right for me?

Answer: Injectables fall into two categories: fillers and those which relax the muscles.

The most commonly known muscle relaxer is Botox, although other brands such as Dysport, also exist. These products are usually used to treat the outer corners of eyes (crows’ feet), between eyebrows (11s or frowns, which make people look mad or upset) and forehead lines running in horizontal fashion across the forehead.

The fillers include Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, Restylane Lift or Silk, and Radiesse; they are used to fill in the lines and hollowness around the mouth, under the eyes, and to enhance the lips. Each product has certain advantages and the effects of each last for differing lengths of time.

We usually have to examine the patient and their facial features, depth of wrinkles, and a few other factors in order to recommend the best product(s) for them. Of course, we do not simply offer the same product to all patients, but instead tailor the treatment based on their individual needs and physical requirements.
