It's an interesting change. In the OT era (before Christ and His church), believers were told to teach in the following way: Psalm 78 (ESV, and note that these same directions occur many times in the Old Testament): 1 Give ea...

It's simple because the requirements are extremely simple: Confess Jesus as Lord with your mouth, believe that God raised Him from the dead in your heart (Romans 10:9-10). It's difficult because we humans are naturally dispos...

Great spot. I used to live in OC, and I plan on going up there soon for some good rides. One suggestion: A map at the beginning or end to help everyone who's not familiar with the trails to see where to start and what the route is.
Thanks!!

Yeah, in some of my videos I do include some maps too. This video was from 3 years back... it was fun for me to re-watch too because of your comment. ;-)

You can change in the New Year, if you want to.  Here are a couple things to do to make change effective and permanent: Spend time with God every day.  Doesn't have to be long, but open the communication lines. Let Him speak...

One thing I have definitely learned about the past.  It's unchangeable. You can re-live it, you can rehearse it, you can wish it was different, but it cannot be changed. So you didn't do what you think you should have last ye...

[Abraham] went out, not knowing where he went... That's the new year.  We always "go out, not knowing where we are going," or what will happen.  It's new, and God has not provided us with a map that goes beyond today.  We are...

Psalm 40 begins with one of the best introductions ever: "I waited patiently for the LORD, ...and He heard my cry. He brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, set my feet on a rock, and established my goings...

Faith: Brings God's approval, Salvation, a life full of blessing: "Now faith is the assurance of things we hope for, the things we don't see; for by it the elders (those who've gone before) gained approval" "If you confess Je...

One of the great subjects of the Bible is faith.  It's also something with which we struggle all the time, if we are honest with ourselves. It's not an easy task to face the new year as Abraham did, "not knowing where we are ...

Some years ago, I sat across from a good friend of mine, a woman, whom I'll call Jane. She had gone to church her entire life, and was now with our church.  She was suffering from terminal cancer, and she was terrified to die...

One of the most encouraging passages in the New Testament is Mark 3:28: Truly I say to you, All sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and blasphemies with which they blaspheme.... This is a great concept for those of us who...

Story
Introduction
I'm in my 60's, and I'm  interested in everything (astronomy, finance, religion, science, fitness, nutrition, health, alternative health, beautiful places, travel, etc.); I love cycling, weightlifting, hiking, and health. I love to laugh, to enjoy life, and making friends.  I believe that life is to be lived, and that each moment God gives us here is precious--and that we will all live forever, somewhere.
