What about the Truth?
So why DO some people hate Christians?? Or despise them?? I'm not talking about "hate for a reason."  There are lots of reasons to dislike any religious bigot, or to hold them in contempt, and people who use religion to harm ...

Jesus said this twice in the Gospel of John: Where I am, there [my servant, you] shall be...John 12:26, and John 14:3. The simple fact is that God desires us to be with Him more than we desire it, simply because His heart is ...

The future of man...
Many people are almost obsessed with angels.  They are powerful spirit beings who watch over believers, and they are important-- incredibly so--but did you know that man is actually programmed to be greater? Here's what the B...

The first statements of the book of Hebrews are about the greatness of Jesus Christ.  This is the theme of the book--the greatness of Jesus Christ and the greatness of the salvation He offers to you. In many ways, the book of...

This "post" is going to be in multiple parts, because Hebrews is such a powerful book for those of us who are seeking the certainty of our faith. The main theme of Hebrews is expressed in the first words: Hebrews 1:1-2: 1 Go...

Do your job. Let God do His.
As I was reading Psalm 37 this AM, the thought occurred to me that God clearly tells us to "do our job," and let Him do His. For example: "Do not fret because of evildoers, be not envious toward wrongdoers... --FOR-- "They wi...

Jesus said this: I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in Him, brings forth much fruit, for without Me, you can do nothing (No Thing...Not Even One Thing...). Earlier, Jesus had said, "I am the true ...

I've been reading the Gospels again, and this time through the thing that impresses me the most is the utter "supernaturalness" of everything in them.  It's true, this supernatural aspect works its way out in the most mundane...

We've all seen it...the scene in a movie where the individual or couple is sitting in the boat, paying no attention, and it becomes untethered, and slips away from the dock.  Many times, the paddles are not on the boat, or th...

Everyone who reads the book of Hebrews in the Bible is immediately confronted with what the writer says about Jesus in his first words: 1. Jesus is the Son of God, through whom God has chosen to speak. 2. Jesus is the Brightn...

Jesus and His sacrifice...
A priest, in the Old Testament sense, had several duties.  He was to approach God on behalf of man. He was appointed, as the book of Hebrews says, "to offer gifts and sacrifices." Jesus is the permanent High Priest, who conti...

Resurrection. Is it true?  Does it matter??
All the messages I've heard this week about the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead have to do with the "proofs for the resurrection."  Since we are 2,000 years away (or so) from the first Easter morning, the actual ev...

Story
Introduction
I'm in my 60's, and I'm  interested in everything (astronomy, finance, religion, science, fitness, nutrition, health, alternative health, beautiful places, travel, etc.); I love cycling, weightlifting, hiking, and health. I love to laugh, to enjoy life, and making friends.  I believe that life is to be lived, and that each moment God gives us here is precious--and that we will all live forever, somewhere.
